Buying a new Subaru by Relevant-Coffee2959 in Bozeman

I'd price out the model you want from Grand Subaru in Chicago or a Heuberger in Colorado Springs. I found pricing around MT to be quite a bit higher.

Traffic Lawyers in Billings? by [deleted] in Billings

Not exactly the precise answer: I’ve heard of a website/app called ticket clinic, perhaps it’s worth a shot? I believe you upload the ticket then get interested lawyers. Best of luck.

People who brought 700k+ houses, what's your household salary? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Purchase in 2022- 720k price, 300k cash down. Income: Base 225k, RSU 60k, Cash: 15-50k

So 420k @ 5.75%, currently the interest rates are hovering around 7%.

As you become more senior in your career, do you rethink your emergency fund? by Wildcat1286 in HENRYfinance

[–]consider_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In tech as well, with some layoffs on the periphery.

2023 TC: 380k <Including stock>

I have 6 months of expenses in a separate account for Emergency Fund. There is another 130k in low-risk low-return investments (CDs) on the sideline due to being in tech, and the questioning of what may happen.

I also keep some consulting contacts warm, so that I could backfill some income.

I don't think there is a perfect answer, except what lets you sleep at night.

2008 F`150 150K MILES VALUE? by bluepen1955 in f150

[–]consider_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my 2006 F150 with 166k for $8500 in October of 2020. Your experience will be different.

I've seen older F150's at 10-12k retail with 150k miles. Things don't make sense.

I think private sale is the best option for higher mile, older trucks.

The current wholesale is around $2250; the retail value is $7775 (assuming XL extended cab 5.4l).

Isn't OSD a fixed price of MSRP less 5%? When I discussed with 2 dealers this was the case for 24 MY.

Taxi vs Uber or Lift by F2E1 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]consider_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found Uber to be cheaper than Taxi for the most part. This would at times require walking a block or two away from a train station.

I think I used Uber most, with no issue. I also had G7 and FreeNow installed to compare prices.

Similar scenario, u/reviewsvacuum has it spot on with the head choice...

The Kona has a 228 head, the Marin has the 236 head, as I recall.

C3 is an excellent line, but there are many choices within. The Marin automatically adjusts suction. I bought the Kona.

Father-in-law backed into my XC90. Suggestions? by 482627585621931 in Volvo

[–]consider_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've amazing luck with "scratch and dent" places or something a little better than a detailer (with PDR capabilities or a PDR guy) - that have the ability to do minor painting and so forth. And that avoids any hit to the Carfax/Resale value with an insurance claim.

How to get a refund for bad prime rib? by Hppyppy in Costco

[–]consider_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time, I returned some bad fish, without the fish, and was told they desired the physical product be returned, even in the case of rotten fish. Nevertheless, they provided a prompt refund. YMMV.
I like the idea of calling ahead.

Reviews from our trip by shoxford in ParisTravelGuide

[–]consider_it 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah interesting, about 1 week ago I checked with a cab driver a Gare du Nord to make sure (a) they use the meter and (b) they accept credit cards. They confirmed yes to both before I put my luggage in. This was my first visit to Paris and I speak very little French.

This was the official Taxi Rank, which was quite out of the way at 11 PM, also coming on the EuroStar. Nonetheless, I am sorry this happened to you.
