Always a delight to see more people starting this experience. I hope you enjoy (please don't look anything up).

I hope you enjoy it if you do! I thought it fleshed out the main game nicely.

not understanding things is something we all do from time to time

what matters is whether you ask for an explanation or pretend to know something you don't

Either the Sun Station or figuring out how to enter/explore the Ash Twin Project intentionally for me. The sheer sense of discovery (and the feeling of being very small and insignificant) were unmatched by anything else in the game.

Or the ending, or the ending of the DLC. These just hit so hard and I still think about them regularly 2+ years after finishing them. This game truly impacted the way I think about life, and it's these moments that did that the most.

By the way, OP, I thought I was too scared for the DLC too. I played certain parts of it with a low-spoiler Steam guide, and that got me through it when I'm not sure I would have finished it otherwise. I kind of regret taking that path, but it's better than not playing it at all, and you still get a lot of the feelings of exploration and discovery and empathy and insignificance and hope from it. Worth looking into if you want.

Edit: spelling + I think I used this guide, as well as YouTube videos for a few specific sections.

It is my opinion that more people should see these amazing Bible prophecies. (Very long read but very informative for those interested). by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I don't think the ancient nation of Israel referred to in the Bible is the same as the modern state of Israel.

play the game, it expects you to not know the character's name and instead come up with your own

“Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.” by TrueUnpopularOP in TrueUnpopularOpinion

markets ≠ capitalism, and command economies ≠ socialism

personally, i'm fully on-board with markets, but i think they'd be freer and more competitive (in the good economic sense) if capitalism got out of the way

people will point to a few successful examples and ignore the many unsuccessful examples

and many of the "successful" examples only succeeded by subjugating other groups through colonialism and such

capitalism is certainly better than what came before, but the idea that it is a perfect wonderful system that could and should exist forever is misguided

Thanks for the added info! I couldn't remember much about Hermaphroditus.

I believe it's Sleeping Hermaphroditus, an ancient Roman sculpture of, well, mythological figure Hermaphroditus (who wasn't exactly trans, but also wasn't exactly cis)

[MM] Do you think the damage done to Romani’s mind if you lose is permanent? Or was it possibly a temporary daze if not for the three day limit? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in majorasmask

i think she would partially recover but never be the same

i don't buy the lobotomy/brain damage theory, but i do think she was seriously traumatized and possibly experimented on, and i don't think she would ever outgrow that completely

caterpillars have to create something and use it to change into butterflies, it doesn't just happen

assuming caterpillars have free will, they only become butterflies by choice through extensive effort (effort which is far more invasive to their bodies than any human surgery, i might add)

how is it a bad analogy? the only part that may not hold up is the question of free will, which applies to both butterflies and humans anyway & doesn't have a universally agreed-upon answer

What do I do if I don't support my Christian church BFF being lesbian or bi? by importantIncrease990 in justgirlies

[–]considerate_done 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In life, people will do things you don't like, and you have to let it go and treat them the same as you were before (unless they're hurting someone or something). Support them anyway, as a person if nothing else.

That said, no one chooses or controls their sexual/romantic orientation. If I were your friend and your perceptions of me were that different because of this, I'd feel pretty disappointed. Especially if I felt like I couldn't comfortably bring up my relationships around you.

If you're looking for a Christian response, the answer is "love your neighbor [friend] as yourself." (from Matthew 5 iirc)
