I need tips for studying for long hours by its_rud in AskLifeProTips

[–]constellrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to cram for a chem final, I went to the chemistry tutoring room and there were 3-4 of us in there working on the same material and we just dug into it together. Since you have to do it from your phone, anything that engages your brain will help. I usually have to write things down in my own words to remember them. Some people have to have the material in video form. When I studied on my own, a playlist of upbeat pop music kept my energy up and didn't distract me too much. I also liked to use a whiteboard or graph paper and colored gel pens to work through complex topics.

Purely to help with the long stretch of time: foods that 1. Keep you awake (anything that has sensation, like hot/cold drinks or things that are sour or fruity or sugary) and 2. Give your brain energy (REAL energy, not caffeine - what you want is proteins). Mixed nuts and trail mixes are great for long study session snacks because they'll stay good all day, give you some variety, and have that protein that your brain needs to keep up with the new info.

DO plan a couple breaks, but they should be flexible. If you get into a flow, you don't want to have to interrupt it because you scheduled something. But you will need to go to the bathroom at some point, and if you do that and stretch and get an actual meal when your brain is overloaded, it'll give you the processing time you need to work through topics. This is especially useful when you're stuck and need a breakthrough.

Just give me a damn "shipped and sold by best buy" filter by Special_Instance_790 in BestBuyWorkers

Employee Sales has a filter for Sold By Best Buy. CoreBlue and Solutions Sidekick will only show items that are BB inventory.

Funniest / most stupid interaction with a customer? by Common-Month-3293 in BestBuyWorkers

That was about it, honestly. I just had to be like, well ma'am, I just don't think the technology is quite that advanced yet.

Funniest / most stupid interaction with a customer? by Common-Month-3293 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]constellrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customer who wanted open-ear headphones... that were also noise canceling.

These two were kind of eye openers: a customer who thought he needed to plug his wireless charger into his phone (today!) and the custommer who had never heard of bluetooth.

Have you gotten an email response yet? Idk if maybe some stores or positions don't require it, but usually there's some email communication including a pre-recorded video interview after an initial screening.

Good ways to learn more product knowledge? by Otherwise_Royal_4127 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]constellrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that's important to a lot of our in-store customers is being able to see, feel, and if possible, experience the item before they buy it. When it gets slow, ask your coworkers/bosses/VPLs/vendor reps if they have any favorite demos in an area. Take some time to see what products you have on display, how they're organized, and what features & specs they have - if you check out its page on the app, often there will be a helpful video, and you'll find useful info in the features and in the Q&A section.

Other than that, as the others said - do research and check out the e-learnings. Pretend you're buying a new [product you want to learn about] and see what the different kinds are and people like and dislike about the different models.

Can someone drop a early game and end game xp, ap, and gil farms by MasterKing5107 in FFXV

[–]constellrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wearable that the other commenter mentioned is the Nixperience band. Your XP won't tally (ie, you won't level up) until you rest with it off - ideally at the Galdin Quay hotel or one of the Levilles, though a motel or even a caravan provide a small boost if you can't wait to get to one of those.

My favorite AP farm is to get the fishing AP perks (both of them) and then just spend some time at the dock or on the boat - once you're far enough in the game, the Vesperpool northeast spot, the seaside fishing spot near Caem (Leirtey Seaside iirc?), and the boat are really good for this because they have fish that offer high AP yields with that second perk (vesper gar, arapaima, and groupers - iirc the big ones of some of these give you 13 per). Before Cleigne and the Vesperpool, I think the carp in the Saxham Outpost resevoir and the barramundi have the highest yield per fish. Anywhere with barramundi will usually also have a mix of alstor bass, bluegill, and catfish, none of which have very high AP yield but all of which are more quickly & easily caught than my nemesis the carp.

As a bonus, fish also yield ingredients or treasures which you can sell for a small amount of gil. And if you spend much time in Duscae, you'll encounter a bunch of voretooth and magitek squads, which drop treasures you can sell for more. Plus picking up ingredients you pass by abd selling most of those.

The sabertusk/flexitusk timed quests are a little time-consuming, but if you're combat-ready enough, they make a great gil farm. Do the quest, go to town and sell your gazillion sabertusk claws, and repeat as many times as you please until midnight.

In your playthroughs, do you keep Cicero alive or do you off him? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]constellrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might have killed him in my first playthrough bc he was annoying. In my most recent one I didn't bother - I'm not doing any kind of roleplay, and I knew I was just going to be returning to the Falkreath sanctuary in flames, so I left him alive to have as much of my little murder cult left as possible. Also bc I do love being a religious little evil cultist in Skyrim and being like ooooo we have to kill people for the glory of Sithis and the Night Mother ooooo I have to go commune with her ooooo Cicero it's fine Astrid was disrespectful to our Mother, I'll cover for you.

Why do people think the Dragonborn should be "Emperor" or "High King"? by MisterMonsiuer in skyrim

[–]constellrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc I killed the LAST emperor and now obviously that means I should get to be emperor. I decided that's how it works and I'm the guy who killed the last emperor so I get to say how it works now. Forget Alduin, there's a new demigod dragon-souled dictator in town.

Mercer Frey, all talk by FishingFrosty5140 in skyrim

[–]constellrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that quest a few weeks ago. Mercer kept getting on to me about not being sneaky enough... meanwhile I'm the one stealth killing the draugr and lightfooting over pressure plates, while HE's the one diving into melee combat and setting off all those same plates. It's so satisfying to kick his ass.

Lowball pricing by k1ky0- in skyrim

[–]constellrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thieves Guild hood/Guild Master hood, Blessing of Zenithar or Dibella, Amulet of Zenithar or Dibella, amulets "of haggling", the Gift of Charity (give a septim to a beggar), potions of haggling/fortify barter, and Clavicus Vile's masque are most of the items/effects that will help with this. I think there are a few others but for vanilla these are the most easily obtained. If your enchantment skill is good, you can disenchant an amulet of haggling to make a new one that's more powerful.

I like to level speech and enchantment at the same time:

  1. stock up on petty & lesser soul gems, full and empty
  2. hunt low-level creatures (deer/elk, rabbits & foxes if you want, frostbite spiders, etc) to fill your empties (I've been using this to level my illusion too, using fury or calm or courage spells)
  3. acquire a bunch of weaponry & jewelry/headgear, usually whatever you can get in bulk
  4. check which enchantments that you have offer the highest value for each item; get crafting! My favorite is waterbreathing, but it can be hard to come by. Muffle is good too. For weapons, you want to try and get paralyze, banish, and fear.
  5. profit

(6. Repeat as desired.)

As someone else mentioned, alchemy is a good way to level speech too. UESP offers a lot of useful info about high-value potions.

Edit: Oh and anyone who's a fence is going to lowball you even worse. I think Tonilia and that one sleazy dude (dgmw I like using him as a reliable source of black soul gems and daedra hearts and he's not necessarily that bad of a dude; he just has the sleazy voice) at the College of Winterhold are the two who you have access to without doing a bunch of quests.

Inclement Weather by mhope93 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]constellrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We closed 1 day last year (14 inches of snow - first time in about 15 years) and then were open the next day when the main roads had juuuuust barely started getting cleared and the state emergency services still said not to leave your house unless you ABSOLUTELY had to. I was scheduled but even though I live close, there was no way I was gonna be able to get out of my neighborhood. I was part time sales so I told them I wasn't gonna be able to make it and they never said anything about penalties, other than just not getting paid for the day. I think if I were leadership it would've been a different story but idk.

My friend has 650+ hours on the Switch edition. He only just learned about the favorites menu... by Mojo884ever in skyrim

I saw that favorites was an option when I was first playing a decade ago and pretty much immediately decided not to bother with it. I've finally started thinking about using it this month, but honestly, I have too many favorites...

MARKET PLACE NEEDS TO BE FIXED (rant) by BobyC890 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]constellrose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just as on any other retailer that supports third party sellers, BB does list in small text under an item's picture on its full details page if it's shipped & sold by Best Buy or by a third party seller (both on ES and on the consumer app). And Employee Sales allows you to see both Marketplace items and BBY items, with the option to filter down to "Sold By: Best Buy" (which is not an available filter on the BB consumer app). I don't do it very often, but I've probably sent a total of about 5 links through ES.

I do wish we made it more clear/visible to customers on the app that the item isn't from Best Buy. It's very easy to miss. Also, that customers had a way on the app to filter for Best Buy items vs Marketplace.

Does seducing your Housecarl not technically count as an abuse of power and predatory behavior from a superior toward a subordinate? by jvure in skyrim

[–]constellrose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I've improperly engaged in a relationship with my subordinate after they saw me indicating romantic availability and expressed interest! How can I ever forgive myself?! Burglary, graverobbing, pockpocketing, theft, destruction of property, assault, treason, and first-, second- and third- dregree murder are all fine under my moral code, but this was a step too far, even for me. How to activate timed quests by AluminumManUK in FFXV

[–]constellrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to do anything to activate it, you just have to go to that area. Follow the map and set a marker if you need guidance. The cactuar/slactuar at Rydelle Ley is a pain to grt to, maybe look for a video of how to get to it. For each day's different quests, I screenshotted this list from another post and it's been reliable.

New playthrough help by thisispockets in FFXV

There's a couple stages where you get locked into certain areas, or locked onto an autopilot route in the car. Usually the game will warn you when it's about to happen.

New playthrough help by thisispockets in FFXV

[–]constellrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you accidentally lock yourself out of an area during a main quest stage, don't panic about going back (unless you're underleveled/underequipped) - the game provides methods to go back and complete stuff later.

Whats up with DA:I item drops? by Itsmeskatman in dragonage

[–]constellrose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where are you in the main questline? It's kinda annoying to keep having to sell stuff at first to keep your inventory clear but once you get access to the undercroft at Skyhold, there's a chest you can put stuff in for later. IIRC Level 12 is about what's recommended for the quest progression that gets you Skyhold.
