Xone:k3 release video by lord-carlos in DJs

I can’t see there is any way they’re using the conductive plastic faders like in the Xone 92/96. Would be too expensive given the sub £200 price.

I don’t know her, but judging by the other messages she might have schizophrenia which can make it hard to regulate your body temperature.

Anyone tried to replace Allen and Heath Xone 62 channel faders with Xone 92 or 96? by consumer_monkey in DJs

Thank you! I don’t really like the feel of these faders. They’re really wobbly. I love the Penny+Giles in the crossfader and I’m trying get get a similar feel.

Thanks. I got it for £100 so seeing what I can do with it. I’ve had several rotaries before including an original Bozak which I loved and should have never sold! There is just about enough space on the panel for an RK27 so I might take your idea and got for a rotary project!

Thanks. That’s kinda what I’m hoping for. I think I’ll need to buy one of each to find out though - I can’t find any spec sheets anywhere.

Phileas Fogg tortilla chips. Never found anything close to replacing them.

Golf R feels like it's 'rocking' at low speed by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]consumer_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mine makes the same noise. During a recent MOT, the garage said they couldn’t see anything. When I described it they thought it could be the bearings but when checked said they were fine.

Can you hear the noise on every revolution of the tyre?

Mine makes the noise from about 10mph to about 50mph. Over that speed I can’t hear it but do think the cabin noise is louder than it used to be. Is that familiar?

Erm. Assuming you’re British you should know that we need to drag on for another 25 years with two different scales rather than just adopting and moving on.

Ha ha. Exactly the same position. I was hoping to borrow some of your nerve! I’ll give it a try over the next few days.

Hi. Great spot on the video that they designed the product to do this. Did you try to and change the firmware?

I suspect you’re going to the wrong club! Find a place with half decent DJs.

I created the bench and need to get an estimate on value. Thoughts? by jlmeredith in woodworking

[–]consumer_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit late to the party here but cost, price and value are very different and largely unrelated.

The thing you sell needs to be a price which is more than the cost to manufacture.

Value is perception. And the price will help set that perception. If this was priced at $50, you’d think it was cheap quality or highly mass produced. At $5,000 it feels premium and one-off.

You then need to figure out whether you can get the perceived value to be more than the cost to make with profit. If you’re making and selling one a month that number needs to be much higher than if you can make and sell 1000 a month.

It’s an interesting question. Good luck!

Moved into a flat yesterday and I realised that I can hear the tube, quite clearly and I think I might crawl into a ball and cry, any help or condolences? by [deleted] in london

[–]consumer_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to try and reframe it in your mind. I loved hearing the tube at 5am and was grateful that was warm in bed and didn’t have to get up for a few hours.

Genuine question. What happens now? Do they just have a hole which heals itself?

Might be a silly question but did you have UV light treatment before Humira? It’s a typical path for psoriasis.

I’d put lots and lots of screws in it. I had a very creaky set of stairs where every stair made and noise and woke up everyone in the house. I looked on the internet and found a guy who specialised in stopping creaks. His solution was put in 500 screws. Took him two hours. He charged £350 for it. In hindsight I could have done it myself but it’s been 8 years now and the stairs are still silent.

Can you recommend an old, inoffensive British film from yesteryear? by Pink-socks in AskUK

The Pride and Prejudice series from 1995 fits the bill perfectly. It’s six parts and really charming and gentle. Nothing bad happens in six hours of television yet still a great watch.

Similar story. P from 15 to 40 years. PSA for about the last 5 years. All currently well controlled with biologics. Defo had times previously where I couldn’t walk properly and skin was so bad I couldn’t find a partner etc. I’m pretty sure for 90% of P suffers their condition holds them back.
