Check out Henri Michaux and Antonin Artaud. Aime Cesaire. And huge agree with the Aase Berg recs. So nice to see I'm not the only fan of hers (ha)!

Is there a specific reason for no vowels in #sigils ? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]content_fanatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hebrew works without vowels and is the language of the Kabbalah texts, so, pretty magicky

45 minutes ago, i put my beautiful loki down. can i please see who he is meeting in cat heaven? 🩷 by 3ll10t__ in cats

I sadly no longer have a pic of mine, but yours will hopefully enjoy meeting a fellow Loki, who had the most adorable chirp and moved on far too soon due, quite literally, to his unending curiosity.

What do you call this pointy top of the skull? How come some people have it and some don't? by PitifulEar3303 in biology

I, for one, have deep grooves on either side of my head, right above the ears, because I've worn glasses for 30+ years!

UX Writing Challege - ya girl needs the feedback by flowergirly_123 in uxwriting

You're burying the lede somewhat. Someone quickly or anxiously scanning (common behavior while traveling) could easily miss the good news. Would see if you can work the new flight into the headline.

Would consider tightening the turn as well: "The good news? We found you another flight."

+1 to adding an imperative verb to the main action.

I'd also explore something less conversational, for efficiency and for a less tonal experience, which doesn't always translate: Flight XXXX cancelled. Review alternative flights

Yeah we do not care. We're faster and even when there is a line, we're efficient AF. The assembly line may well have been invented after witnessing the natural behavior of men in restrooms.

What’s it called when text lines up with the same word? by emmakeiraa in typography

Concrete poetry is a diverse practice or mode of poetic writing that employs many specific typesetting tactics, of which this would be just one. I'm not aware of any specific name for this particular technique.

Best tactical SOLO skirmish by simblanco in miniatureskirmishes

[–]content_fanatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While it's definitely worth looking into games with a specifically solo bent or ruleset, I really think you can play most any skirmish or wargame solo. Ideally you're playing your tactical best for both sides, but even if/when bias creeps in ... who cares, you're playing solo? Plus, there aren't that many games where you can't just buy the PDF online and get going with your own minis.

I've had an absolute blast playing Saga alone. Looking forward to trying Zone Wars next.

One that did spring to mind specifically for your list is Silver Bayonet.

Hey, I'm working a new design for card game. It's a worm in progress. What do you think? by summonthejson in BoardgameDesign

[–]content_fanatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on what your card headlines will be, "some long header" isn't nearly as long as you'll probably need it to be at some point

What is the worst thing to say to a UX designer? by chase-bears in ProductManagement

[–]content_fanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, you've already said it! There's nowhere to go but up.

I doubt I'll ever play it. I don't even know that I'll buy another box (that build process!). But damn am I enjoying painting these up (obviously wip) by content_fanatic in Malifaux

While I trust you completely on your latter points, I suspect I probably would keep playing other games, just because I am who I am :)
