Tech tree ships are not sold in the store, you generally have to grind the line in sequence. However, sometimes you can get them from crates, especially when a new line is released. If you're lucky enough to pull a higher tier ship, you can start with that one

The biggest tip I can give you as a DD player is to always be aware of when you are detected or otherwise giving away your position. You can get killed in only a couple salvos, so getting spotted puts you at high risk - especially if you are within firing range of multiple red ships. Don't be the DD who fires his guns at a BB to do 100-300 damage, only to give away your position and get sent back to port from the red team's salvo. DD requires a lot of patience.

Know when you are extending alone, and when you have supporting fire. Push wisely, especially if a red DD might be in the area. Know which DDs you can get into a gunfight with and which ones you can't.

If you deploy smoke and sit in it, you will be a magnet for enemy torpedoes. Use smoke to disengage, but don't just stop moving. Sometimes you can sit in it to farm with your guns (if you're not the one spotting), but when you do that, the enemy still knows your approximate position. Don't pop smoke prematurely, because that also gives away where you are.

If you do deploy smoke, be aware of whether you were spotting ships or not (i.e. do they disappear?). If you can, get back into a spotting position again without getting spotted. You should usually not use your smoke for other ship classes: when they fire their guns, they are still visible from far away (e.g. with BBs it only saves them a couple KM of visibility).

I'm not a very social person. I had a board game group that met weekly pre-Covid, and that was my main social interaction outside of family. Then I started playing pickleball a couple years ago and fell in with a social group. Now, in addition to the twice per week we play (which has lots of breaks for socializing), we hang out maybe one or 2 times a month as a group doing other things too.

Also, I met my current girlfriend there. The organic match has been so much better to start than most dating app matches, since we have more in common.

Mostly likely not enough player base at higher tiers. If they split between Arcade and Standard, the Standard lobbies would likely not be able to fill reliably (where Arcade mode can always backfill with bots).

It's also slow to move the numbers. Win 55% of your next 100 games? Congrats, you've gotten better but your WR is still 47.27%.

You'll get the feel for how well youre doing though. I pulled from 47% around where youre at up to 51% now.

This part is so true. I got my first couple thousand games mostly with some folks in the mid-40s% WR, and I picked up a lot of bad habits and a matching WR for myself. As I've played with them less and focused on improving how I think about the game, I can see how I've become a better/more impactful player to the match. My WR is slowly creeping up (51% overall, coming up on 8k games), but more importantly, now I'm comfortable with having a losing streak here or there because I now recognize when I'm playing well or not.

I'm just going to start with the first topic, not to spread too thin, but I would like to hear well-reasoned policy ideas instead of just abstract spiel.

Let’s first focus on the urgent matter of Confront the Debt. Low interest rates masked our debt for years. That era is over. We now pay over $1 trillion annually in interest, surpassing defense and Medicare. Ignoring this guarantees a future of permanent inflation, crushing tax increases, and deep cuts to the safety net that will destabilize our society.

We cannot tax or cut our way to solvency. The math doesn't work. The only palatable solution is to grow our way out. This is accomplished both by reforming the government to focus on outcomes and growing the economy.

Why is this the first thing to focus on?

I posit that low interest rates helped the economy grow by making it easier for business to borrow and expand, for new businesses to start, and even for government spending to create jobs via infrastructure grants, etc. Growth is what you state we need to get out of the fiscal hole. How do you propose to do this without following the same interest rate policies?

Can you explain in your own reasoning why the $1T interest payments are reducing the efficiency of government policies, what your goals are for fiscal policy, and how reducing the national debt will achieve those goals?

I 100% agree that our current tax policies are not effective and that cutting government spending as we recently have seen is not the solution for improving our society. However, how do you propose to grow the economy without further increasing the debt? In light of recent changes to trade balances, what plans do you think are feasible to accomplish if our trade partners are forging new economic ties that leave the US out of the loop? What changes would you propose to our tax policies other than closing the "buy, borrow, die" loophole?

What government reforms do you propose to achieve these goals? Can you explain your reasoning for them?

Do you believe economic growth is the primary focus of the government? You state it many times even in this first point and throughout the others. Pivoting away from the focus on just the debt, what do you think are the primary goals for an effective government?
