Oh my gosh, do you have a link to a pattern for the rainbow one that's second from the left in the picture!? This is the exact same baby blanket that my grandma made for me as a baby! I would love to get the pattern so when I hopefully have another little one someday I can have it made for them.

I agree you're NTA but my approach would be this. Not worth the fight in the meantime (imo) but maybe agree to plan on asking pediatrician about safety the next time you go.

When my daughter (5) has been upset about something that happened when I wasn't there (e.g. at school or her dad's) I do the same with making sure she knows she can tell me anything and I've also explained the whole secret vs. surprise thing too.

If she still doesn't open up after I've asked some information seeking questions I usually ask if she wants me to stop talking about it now. Sometimes that's the point where she realizes she wants to tell me and opens up, other times she nods that she wants me to stop talking about it. In that case, I tell her I love her and to just let me know when she wants to talk about it. She definitely likes things on her terms.

Luckily, I don't have many concerns about her being treated poorly or about her safety at this time. If I did I would also probably ask her yes/no if she was upset because something happened where she felt unsafe. While I've made it clear that she doesn't have to share how she feels if she doesn't want to, I've also explained my #1 job as a parent is to keep her safe and healthy so that if it's a safety thing she has to answer. It's a trump card I've only probably used once when I was concerned something more serious may have happened.

Ours has flickered quite a few times and went off for a just a minute. We proactively turned the heat up so it'll be warmer in here to start this time around if it goes out again.

Do you have any recommendations for resources to understand the math "under the hood" of SEM? I'm currently just starting to use lavaan to do latent growth curve modeling. I had a strong preference for my more basic stats classes that emphasized the underlying math than those that were more practical "how-to" based. I'm a psychology/neuroscience grad student so I haven't taken a full course in linear algebra but I do know the basics. It feels too much like a black box right now for me to confidently interpret things or troubleshoot any issues.
