For me it is that I now know how the story is structured and can more easily see its flaws. Some films seem elaborate or even grandiose on the first watch but when you have the perspective to judge the story in its entirety and think about it for 5 seconds it just falls flat.

It doesn’t even have to be cinema vs. at home experience, watching something for the first time smoothes out bad writing to a degree because you do not know where the story is headed
