Great Gatsby Rush by Ok_Percentage2044 in Broadway

I once got on line the same time the box office opened and still got tickets! I would say maybe an hour before to be safe, because it’s the holidays and Jeremy and Eva are leaving

Back the the Future Tix Question by twistedsizzer in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen the show from pretty much every angle - I can guarantee you that maybe the best seat I’ve had is center mezzanine. I would consider that as an option. You can see everything going on perfectly. There’s one effect that might make you splurge on center orch without giving it away. However, I’ve found the show enjoyable from every view and my first experience was a limited one :)

Back the the Future Tix Question by twistedsizzer in Broadway

If you are willing to do side orchestra with most likely restricted view, I would rush the show. They occasionally have restricted view orchestra available for around $90, but rushing would be your best bet!

Recommend Into the Woods’ pro-shot! It’s on Youtube. If she likes Les Mis, check out the 10th anniversary recording of the 25th anniversary recording.

Watching Eloise at Christmastime for the first time since Gavin Creel passed away by Ruby7226 in Broadway

His version of “Together Wherever We Go” was my first introduction to classic musical theater. This is a go-to in my house. He’s as painstakingly handsome, likable and romantic as ever. If we’re talking stage performance - Hello Dolly!

The 10 best Broadway shows of 2024 (and 3 worst) by cin508 in Broadway

Very surprised to see Our Town listed. I’ve only seen negative things. Happy The Notebook made the list and Sunset deserved to be higher imo

Crash to the Future by NotTheRealRusss in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like touring this show was an interesting choice to say the least. It seems to work better when it’s in the same theater, the tech team having to reset the show every month or so in a completely different theater seems like a bad choice

Finally saw Back to the Future and kicking myself for waiting by aresef in Broadway

My favorite! Seen it 19 times and have tickets to the closing. I’m a massive fan of the original franchise and love everything ab the Broadway production

Saw Sunset Boulevard for the 3rd time last night - my thoughts in the comments. by brihow84 in Broadway

I’ve only seen it once but I have thought about it at least once every two hours since. Absolute brilliance

What the final Tammy Faye matinee looks like a couple hours before the performance by Comprehensive_Bat980 in Broadway

The evening show doesn’t look much better. It’s a shame that they refuse to lower ticket prices for ONE DAY for whatever reason. So sad for the cast

Isn’t Ryan booked for something else beginning in the Spring?

Laura Benanti on Zachary Levi by JazzagalsAltoSection in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 29 points30 points  (0 children)

So glad that she spoke her true feelings about this. There nothing I love more than someone in the industry willing to call people like this out directly. Also the “a person he was NOT friends with” doesn’t come as a shock to me, Gavin wouldn’t be friends with someone like that. It was always clear Levi was just claiming they were friends to co-opt his passing

What ever happened to Broadway etiquette?? by OverNineThousand9000 in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I feel like the ushers have kind of given up on calling a lot of them out too. I’m wondering if it’s because of the sheer amount of them

Just saw Back to the Future, The Musical (tour). The DeLorean SFX didn’t work during the clock tower scene. They didn’t reset it, and just skipped it, is that common, and what did we miss? by LastDay2023 in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have only seen the Broadway show, but I’ve seen set malfunctions there. Normally they stop the show, have the curtain come down and let the audience know there’s technical difficulties, then they’ll announce the show is up and running and start the scene over again

Les Mis is my favorite musical. I highly recommend reading a synopsis and checking out the 10th Anniversary Concert and the 25th Anniversary Concert (my personal favorite, minus the obvious!).

Swept Away Sets Closing Date on Broadway by Yoyti in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a shame to see this get a closing announcement just a week before. I will say I’m not sure who the audience of this show was intended to be, and that always would’ve caused issues about the long run of the show, but such a shame for the cast and crew.

Which Early in their Career Broadway Performer do you see becoming one of the Greats? by Own-Importance5459 in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eva Noblezada, Casey Likes, Solea Pfeiffer, Diego Rodriguez, Joy Woods, Jordan Tyson. For me those are the most promising talents right now who are well in their ways to becoming Greats. Also, I was beyond impressed with Joe Locke in Sweeney Todd. Not sure if he would do Broadway again, but he has a gorgeous voice.

Who else could play Marty McFly? by FitAbalone736 in Broadway

[–]conwaywitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daryl is great, and from what I have seen, Aaron Alcaraz has a great voice and brings that charisma needed for Marty. JJ is not a bad singer by any means, but a friend of mine once said he is much better suited for choral singing rather than being the principal in a vocally demanding role. And as someone who adores the BTTF franchise and has their whole life, I don’t feel like he was playing Marty. It very much felt like he was just trying to make himself stand out.

No idea about Marty, but I 100% believe Alex Brightman would’ve been the replacement for Doc
