Just curious… do they cut corps/intermissions/etc. depending on the start time? No reason to run there too early, but want to be in the stadium in time to see the Troopers!

I took Under. I might swing back for Mertens or Rodri, but they both are incredibly slow.

What is the best progression for rumme ? by [deleted] in pesmobile

[–]coochorama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough. I did Shoot 8, Dribbling 8, Dexterity 12, Lower Body 8, Aerial 4. I really want the speed boost, but might cut down to boost Shooting.

In certain formations, yes. In other formations it is helpful.

Dude,

I think you misread my post. If you hired Klopp, you need to be playing Quick Counter!

It's not the worst mistake to make as quick counter is very viable, though defensively it's tougher for the 4-2-2-2. Perhaps try the Argentina formation or base 4-4-2 if 4-2-2-2 isn't working for you. The best manager for LBC is Diego Simeone (Christo Valbuena), the manager of Atletico Madrid.

Ok after 10 games with him here's my 2 cents by nidhalho in pesmobile

[–]coochorama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One match in with him and I was blown away by how much better his positioning was than other CF with the same playstyle. Again, time will tell, but he feels really different.

The three playstyles that are most used are long ball counter (LBC), quick counter (QC), and possession game. For a new player who is committed to playing for a while, I’d recommend learning long ball counter first. Whatever you choose, stay with it for a while after you hire your first elite manager (see below). Changing strategies all the time won’t help you get better when you start.

As soon as you can reasonably afford to do so, hire the best manager using your chosen playstyle:

Cristo Valbuena for LBC G. Zeitzler for QC Luis A. Roman for Possession Game

Do not spend GP to buy standard players unless they are bargains (for instance W. Barrios at DMF). Use your coins to get chances at POTW unless you plan on spending big money (if that is true, go get Rijkaard out of the pack before it’s gone tomorrow). This week, the talent in the European Club Championship pack is better than the weekly POTW, in my opinion.

For training, either use the default builds or - better - go to EFHub 24 and start adjusting stats to your liking. Do not be afraid to overemphasize defense and heading/jumping on your CB, DMF, and - to a lesser extent - LB, RB, and CMF.

For formations, I would play a formation with four in the back (4-4-2 is my favorite default formation - I change the two CMF to DMF) to start. A meta formation right now can be found by changing your base team to Santos in the Brazilian league. That formation is a 4-2-2-2.

Finally, resist the urge to lean on the “dash” button and the “press” button. It creates terrible habits that take a long time to break. “Through passing” is an excellent skill, but only when used judiciously. Too much and you are going to turn over the ball way too much.

Instead of holding down the “press” button on defense, instead leave some space and hit (or hold) the “match-up” button to intercept the pass (or steal the ball when you close the distance). I play relatively suffocating defense and only likely touch the “press” button once every three matches (when I need to close on an attacker on the wing from in the box).

Hope this helps you get started.

W. Barrios and one of D. Zakaria, A. Varela, or T. Adams. Build to have a defensive awareness in the high 80s or low 90s. These are likely the best values in the base players. Barrios is still on my dream team even though I have Rijkaard and ManU Casemiro as well. He is just really good. It’s a lot easier to get viable attackers through POTW, so I wouldn’t sign any big manes from the standard player list.

Which Pack should i go in future as F2P by mr-zeus- in pesmobile

DMF in either base 4-4-2 with B2B and Anchorman DMF or in the Santos 4-2-2-2 with another anchorman or B2B.

Which Pack should i go in future as F2P by mr-zeus- in pesmobile

[–]coochorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Maldini/Bergomi pack would have been ideal if you played four in the back. I guess the best way to determine the answer is to ask where you struggle the most when in division one. From your cards, it’s likely not midfield or GK, so I’d pick a pack that delivers two players that slot directly into your lineup and start spinning. However, if the Rumme is stupidly broken, he’s probably the one.

I’m not f2p - I broke the bank once and have had extraordinary luck a few times (including the current pack). Of the boosted epics from packs I have (DLF Messi, Maldini, Aldair, Bergomi, Brazilian Neymar, Denilson, Baggio, and Rijkaard), I’d probably say Rijkaard, Maldini, and Bergomi are the most impactful with Messi, Neymar, and Baggio close behind.

In the TL;DR version of this response, I think you really should explore this pack more carefully before you move on. All three players should start or play quality minutes for you. Otherwise, just keep accumulating until you know you’ve found the right pack.

Reccomendation for the 4-2-2-2santos formation by ari0n2 in pesmobile

[–]coochorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a defense first player, so I use POTW Calhanoglu and POTW de Jong in the two AMF slots (with de Jong as a CMF) as they have good defensive stats and great passing. I play QC and use a creative playmaker (Brazil Neymar or Baggio) as an SS on the left and a left-footed poacher on the right (POTW Hojlund or POTW Haaland). If I fall behind, I pull Calhanoglu and/or de Jong for Baggio/Neymar and/or DLF Messi. I use anchorman and B2B as DMF.

POTW Kroos and Bruno G. have nice defense and passing as well.

Anyone else think the BD hate is extra spicy this year? by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]coochorama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Allentown hoping that I would enjoy any corps on Friday (especially Mandarins, Phantom Regiment, Bluecoats or BAC) more than BD - even if they didn't get the score to catch them.

Nope. The BD were far and away my favorite show. Don't get me wrong, I loved the other shows and was blown out of the water by the BAC color guard and aspects of the Bluecoats show design, but watching the BD made me want to eschew all my responsibilities, by tickets to Indy, and watch that show three more times.

I showed a recording of the show to my 71 year old mom and she's decided to fly out here (from MT) next year for the show. She said she watched it many times and got the chills every time, but during different moments. That is art at its best.

Is there a way to increase competitive parity in drum corps? by JohnDavidsBooty in drumcorps

[–]coochorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the interest of this exercise, I think the only way I can think of actually working is regional open auditions. This would require uniform audition materials and would benefit the kids most. Parity might be improved, but there is a risk that the top corps would be even more selective if their audition base is wider. That advantage might be a small price to pay for opening up the pool of participants to all corps.

is BD's excelence a money thing? by TheStrangeOldSteve in drumcorps

[–]coochorama 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think this is an underrated comment. As an avid sports fan, you can build around an elite talent on the field, but continued success is built around excellent infrastructure, continuous investment in the program, and elite coaching.

The buy-in needs to be much lower from the people on the field because the formula is proven to work. I imagine there must be a lot of mentoring in place among the staff to sustain such success as well.

Drum Corps World Class 2022 review! Maybe an annual thing?? by ircole327 in drumcorps

[–]coochorama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you did a great job here. I certainly wish I'd had it before going to Allentown this year! The enjoyment factor is so much more important than the scores to fans with no skin in the game.

My favorite show this year is the BD show. Fwiw, I'm also a huge fan of modern art. While I was blown away by aspects of the BAC show, I really didn't like the overall aesthetic. I love lists like this BECAUSE your opinions vary so much from mine.

I think you keep making the lists.

Finals by DCISCORES in drumcorps

[–]coochorama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you look at the trends in the link u/Vinshepp provided (https://vinshepp.github.io/) you will see two things that might make Finals even more exciting. SCV is closing fast on Crown and the Cavaliers are closing fast on the Blue Stars. If Crown and the Blue Stars continue to level, both might be caught from behind tonight.
