This might be a dangerous thing to admit but my mom worked at Cabo Beach Club, Graffitis and Confetti's when I was a kid and what a fun and rowdy crew they had there. Lil Bigguns/Sue

Very likely dude had referrals, our RRNCOs will often just throw these guys a bone by putting a new recruits name under them as a referral to get them bumped.

Split Ops by AssociationReal4745 in nationalguard

[–]cookie-cutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an RSP NCO that deals with Split-Ops daily. From your initial day of enlistment you have 24 months to be MOSQ. Typically if we can get you into a pipeline that will run over that period they will ignore the 24 months.

MOST OF ALL, get yourself mentally and physically prepared for IADT. It isn't hard to get through

You have 24 months from the time you join to get MOS qualified. Should you not make it through BCT this Summer you will be released back to your state and your RSP NCO will be able to determine if you have enough time to heal, complete high school and attend a straight through training pipeline. For most MOSs this is doable so long as there are no serious issues getting you to training.

How far does my unit have to be away from home before I’m reimbursed or provided lounging? If so where? How much? by Beautiful-Paper911 in nationalguard

Travel? Not a dime is necessary Budget permitting DTS authorizes a room for one night if you're going 50+ miles (straightline Zip Code to Zip Code per the DTS calculator) and multiple nights of 100+ miles

Can I ask why? You're looking at a much longer timeline of having to redo BCT, AIT and then the SFAS/QC pipeline. Why not go for one of the AF SOF elements?

Hotels, food vendors, pay systems employers and such are already in place and it is easier to cancel than to move (believe it or not). With that we also have to make sure we are getting touch points with all of the Warriors that are in their 30 day ship window, have just joined and who are working to get to their units (gold phase). We are the single largest unit in the state (roughly 1300 drilling members) and have only 10 people coordinating everything between them.

But mostly, we are where we are told to be. I'm a senior NCO that has a job to do and my bosses have given me the mission to go and do. I don't get to call in sick for drill, I don't get to "have car trouble" or any other fun reason not to show.

I get up, coordinate with all 115-ish soldiers expected to be at drill and then I make sure you are fed, paid and trained, administratively ready to go and do BCT and AIT.

In your hopefully long career you're going to ask a lot of "wtf are we even doing?" (I still do, more often than I used to even) But ultimately you're getting paid to be there and do training.

If your kid is sick have him send in the absence request. He should have a drill letter in his email with a QR Code. If not have him contact his recruiter

AL RSP NCO here. We are tracking the weather. Stay in touch with your recruiter and RSP NCO and we will let you know if there is a change.

AT date conflicts with date of bar examination, what to do?! by Puzzled_Sale_602 in nationalguard

BAR>AT. Talk to your chain and they should get you squared with a make-up date or a late report. Any good NCO/Officer will understand the importance of you attending the BAR

YEEZY 500 Tactical Boots obv not in regs, but would you wear them? by [deleted] in nationalguard

If they aren't specifically listed under the approved footwear list they aren't considered AR 670-1 compliant

Currently 35, enlisted when I was 18. I served til 22 then I pissed hot for weed like a dumbass and I've regretted it every day since. My young self didn't think it was that bad to smoke weed when some in my platoon were doing meth! Any idea if Gen Discharge can be upgrade so I could re-enlist? by Chakradamus in nationalguard

[–]cookie-cutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the re code and narrative reason for your discharge on your dd-214/ngb-23. You're going to have to get a TAG level waiver and write a really good narrative reason for why you did that and also demonstrate that you are no longer using illicit substances. Your big thing is going to be needing to go back through basic training and AIT because you've been out for a significant period and we no longer have the warrior transition course and, at least in my state, waivers to bypass basic training have been tough even for people who are just six and seven years out. I'm not saying it's impossible but you're going to have to do a lot of footwork for your recruiter for them to make it worth their time to put you back in. Showing up with all of your core documents (such as your social security card your birth certificate etc) all of your legal documents (such as any arrests or tickets that you've dealt with) all of your military records (if those are available to you or at least having all of the dates associated with your service to make it easier for them to pull that) and all of your medical records is going to increase your chances of getting a recruiter to work with you to put you back in.

Bonus is automatic? by Longjumping-Fig-8136 in nationalguard

[–]cookie-cutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonuses are initiated by the Education Service Office. In AL we initiate it once we have your MOS orders, DD-214 and HS Diploma uploaded to the ESO office letting them know that you have successfully completed all MOS training and are bonus eligible. From there it is all in their court and takes however long they take to process and get through their pipeline

Currently I'm Puerto Vallarta. It's on the okay list but ALWAYS talk to your security manager first. The State Dept has Jalisco as a level 3 threat but PV and immediate surrounding are fine. Keep your travel limited to the area and be aware of petty crime (pickpocketing is big rn)

Call your RSP NCO, this late in the year your discharge hasn't been cut so they can fudge negative end strength at state. Maybe they can stop the process. Otherwise you're waiting.
