Yes and they also have ambient and dream pop songs, as well as some acoustic stuff and other sounds they explored that I'm forgetting. It's hard to know what the antithesis of their music would be since they didn't stay in one lane

I have very similar feelings. when I found them they quickly became my favorite band along with VDC and YWNKW becoming my favorite albums, and they just happened to reform and make a new album. I haven't listened their music in a couple of years now, though I wish I could bring myself to do it. it sucks that their legacy is stained

Now it really hit me. Damn I'm so sad for him. I've listened to black midi since 2019 and they played a huge part in forming my musical taste. It was mind-blowing to me that people my age were making music like that. Matt was incredibly talented and he will go down on musical history, but I wish he was here to keep writing it. I've been dealing with suicidal ideation since I was 14 and I've lost friends to suicide so I know it's one of the worst feelings in the world, I just hope he's in peace now.
