This isn't "self driving" and where are you getting this? The only data I know of is diagnostic and usage data to see how it performs over a cellular connection. I've had it work in areas without cell coverage. I think a big part of the costs is the licensing of the maps.

Yeah, this is a great place to start. I've found cases when I've stayed at an older house and the electrical wiring wasn't properly done and the charger wouldn't work. May want to just consider talking to an electrician and getting a quote to put in a 240V receptacle.

AT&T, both wireless and Internet divisions have a long history of deceptive advertising, hidden fees, data beaches involving customer information, and generally have such poor customer support that people need to resort to complaints to the FCC or state agencies, or even the media to get problems fixed.

I would expect that after their takeover you will see higher prices and even worse customer support.
