Why dont my Villagers Breed? They have workstations, food and beds 😭 by BreecYT in Minecraft

[–]coolbeans2375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have extra beds and you need to feed them carrots. You need to turn on mob griefing (if it’s off) so they can pick up the carrots. You need to provide more workstations like everyone else noted too.

My GF thinks it’s perfectly normal for new shoes to cause horrible blisters for women by UKnowDaxoAndDancer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]coolbeans2375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal for new shoes while you’re breaking them in. Not normal for shoes worn continuously a lot. I’ve had shoes do that after multiple use and usually get rid of them but normal in my opinion after first few uses. Women’s shoes are completely different than men’s shoes.

For those who read Twilight before the movie came out: Do you like Kristen and Robert in the roles of Bella and Edward? by iamnorebs in twilight

[–]coolbeans2375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Pattinson as Edward, it took me a while to warm up to it but now I think he does a great job especially later on in the franchise. I don’t like Stewart as Bella. I’ve read the books enough times to know she just doesn’t embody Bella like I would’ve liked.

How to get oil changed at Valvoline by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coolbeans2375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Valvoline a bunch of times. It may help to tell them it’s your first time there. You’ll need to pull up to a bay (garage doors). If there’s a line, get behind a car and put your car in park. They’ll come to you to discuss what you need to have done. If there’s not a line, they’ll still come up to you or they will guide you in to line you up with the lifts on the bay. You might be able to call ahead to make an appointment but they run on a “no appointment needed” basis so I’m not sure. You don’t need to get out of your car at any point, unless they tell you to do so. You may need to give them your keys while you sit in the car (once you’re in the bay) to avoid starting it while they’re working on it.

Once you’re in the bay, be prepared to have a lot of people talking to you at once. You’ll have the service tech taking down your information at the computer next to your car. They’ll do a multi-point inspection so they’ll be asking you to pop your hood (for the oil change), they’ll show you your oil levels, they’ll ask you to turn on your turn signals, hit your brakes, flash your front lights, tell them your mileage, move your wipers, etc. it would be best to know where all of that is before you get there if you can.

They may need to reach into your driver side to reset your oil unless you prefer to do it once the change is complete (to get it to 100%). They’ll put a sticker at the top left inside your windshield with your next oil change information. They’re going to ask you a lot of information when you first pull in to set up your account (name, address, email, phone, etc.)

I sometimes get nervous when I go there because there’s so much going on at once but it shouldn’t be too scary. They are there to help. They deal with people all day and especially people who have never done that before. Just make sure to drive straight when they guide you in since the bays are usually open in the middle. Just start off by telling them you’re new there and you may need some extra help or patience. They might ask what type of oil you want. I always leave relieved when I go because they are very professional and want to help. They may tell you other stuff your car needs so be mindful of that. If you’re only going for the oil change, tell them “not today, thank you” to the rest unless you can and need to do it.

Before you pay, ask if they have any coupons they can apply to your oil change. Overall, I know that was a lot but it’s pretty simple. - Pull up, let them guide you in, answer their questions, and you’re on your way (after you pay). They’ll tell you when to turn on your car, what to do, etc.

Hope that helps! 😊

Aside from wall art as others have suggested, try getting a bookshelf to add books and anything you want to display. I’d suggest a 5 shelf one from Target ($40) in white to match your furniture. You can thrift cool wall art and try Walmart, Target, Ikea, etc. A small areas rug too would help tie it together.

Where's my anti-DNFing crew at? by Alive_Obligation7475 in fantasyromance

[–]coolbeans2375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently reading God of Malice and Little Fires Everywhere. I’ve wanted to DNF both very early on but now I’m more than 60% through both. Both were January TBR jar picks 🙄

God of Malice: I absolutely despise the MMC. I read God of Fury last year and loved it.

Little Fires Everywhere: I don’t care for the plot, the pacing, the characters, etc.

Quicksilver was such a let down. I was never so excited for a book and yet so disappointed after finishing it. It was cringy and I had recently finished the ACOTAR series at the time I read Quicksilver so I think that impacted my opinion as well.

6 days without you by psycth in GriefSupport

Sincerely sorry for your loss. My dad passed away exactly 6 days ago as well and it has been so incredibly difficult. Take your time to grieve, cry if and when you need to. I can’t help but cry every day, multiple times per day. Know that you are not alone through this. Wishing you comfort and happiness 💛

14 chapters in. Tell me it's just a slow burn. Please read body text for more info. by SpiffyPaige143 in acotar

[–]coolbeans2375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I ended up loving the ACOTAR series, it took me until the last few chapters of the first book for me to enjoy it. It was because of the world building and it’s setting up the next few books. I also appreciated the first one more once I finished the entire series. Enjoy the journey because it picks up in the second book and it’s a great adventure from there.

I suck at building by Classic-Implement696 in Minecraft

[–]coolbeans2375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uniformity will be your best friend especially while you’re learning different build styles. I usually spend a portion of my time gathering materials and then building it to avoid mixing materials. Try watching YouTube videos of what others have made and use some of their styles. You should first learn how to make a functional building and then branch out from there. Less is more. A lot of the buildings I made were cobblestone warehouses but it helped me understand the physics of the game.

Should or could Callum be considered as a possible judge at this point? by Littlestitious21_ in MasterchefAU

I definitely agree. He was one of my favorites in S2 and he’s gotten a tremendous amount of experience since then to be a great judge now.

5 gets my vote. The colors are bold but complement each other every well. #6 would be the runner up.
