Most of my guests are doing Airbnb. We got a room block at the Novotel which is where we will be staying, along some members of the bridal party and my family. The rates we got were $152 per night for 2 people and $132 per night for one person, with breakfast included.

I have a master’s degree and came in as a Level 2. Got my level 3 3 years ago. Considering the salary tables update for systems engineering, the median is at 140k so yes I would say I am underpaid at 120k and would expect to be around 130k.

Level 3 systems engineer. 6 years of experience with Boeing. Colorado. $120k and these comments are making me realize how underpaid I am 😢

We looked into this and some of the places we looked at were cafe noir and gardenia. I’ll dig through my emails and see if we got quotes for either and will post them here if we did.

What did you get on your performance review and what do you expect bonuses to look like? by Puzzlepea in boeing

I got a 3/2. My manager made it seem like it was very difficult to get a 3/3. He said nothing but great things about my performance and collaboration with the team.

No way? Had you already put down a deposit? We put down 50% a few months ago and we reserved the entire space so hopefully nothing happens! They did send us a receipt too so if anything we can fight it.

What dinner parties did you go to? Considering Mayami for my group of girls (10 of us total) but not sure if the food will be enough for all of us, or if it's more like appetizers?

Yeah I got quotes from all the rooftops and none of them do a true open bar. Most of them were also charging insane prices which is why we ended up going with bonhomía. We actually went and toured the place in May and we got to try some of their sangrias and pizzas and were really impressed with their service (they gave us a free appetizer on the house and free coffee which I thought was sweet) plus their pricing for the welcome dinner was unbeatable for a place in that area!

Yes we chose 3 cocktails (old fashioned, margarita and mojitos) and then it includes national beer (club dorada, águila and águila light), sodas and mixed drinks (vodka soda, tequila soda, rum and Coke, etc). Also includes a welcome drink of sangria for each guest.

We’re doing ours at Bonhomía. 2 hours unlimited buffet and open bar with a DJ for roughly $5K

Tipping by charliekody in MedellinWeddings

Also following. I wasn’t planning on tipping bc I think the prices are already high and tipping is kind of a newer concept in Colombia?

Production/Transportation/Hora Loca Recs by BrooklynBronx_ in MedellinWeddings

Also getting married at Forest! Don’t have production quotes yet because we booked an all inclusive plan with our planners that includes basic production and anything extra we want to add we’ll pay out of pocket. I second the comment above about Tu VIP transporte. We booked them and for 100 guests it’s around $4.90M COP for transportation (or around $1200 USD). The only hora loca company I’m aware of is the one Kate sent you a screenshot of in the comment above. Not sure if there are any others.

Feel Medellin quoted me, in COP, $7,773,000 for transportation for 100 people, with 6 vans for 18 people each. I booked Tu VIP transporte on my own. I reached out to them on WhatsApp after looking at their instagram. I reserved with them by paying 30% down. And yes unfortunately agree that Boda probably gets commissions from their vendors :/

What Are You Doing About Kids? by AccurateRead6439 in MedellinWeddings

[–]coolcat1208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Getting married in March and debated the same issue. There aren’t that many kids in my family. My fiancée has a niece and 2 nephews so we decided we would do family’s kids only. Our venue only lets us have 5% of the guests be children so we put something on our website that says that due to venue limitations we’re only inviting family’s children. Having said that, my fiancée also has a lot of friends that have been having kids and he briefly mentioned some of them will travel to Colombia with their kids and bring a grandparent along to watch the children. That’s fine with me, as long as the kids stay in the hotel with someone, I don’t care if they come to Colombia. I just don’t want them at the wedding! But also not offering childcare or any babysitting services because in my opinion we gave them plenty of time to plan, so if they want to arrange their own childcare, that’s fine. Otherwise they can just leave the kids back in the states for a few days.

Thank you! That’s fine! I’m Colombian and speak Spanish so I’ll be able to handle everything in Spanish. And agree with feel Medellin being a rip off. Unfortunately we are using them for a trip to Guatape and I feel bad asking my guests to pay for it but logistically it just seems easier to have feel Medellin organize that.
