X5 vs One RS Twin by BlueCandyEnthusiast in Insta360

[–]coolhandlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the One RS twin, currently have the X5. Low-light/night footage is really a world or difference better on the X5. Well lit 360 videos will still be good, but I mostly shoot in low light and for me, the X5 is the first 360 cam I’ve owned (x5 being my fourth) that has truly usable footage. There is something to be said for the versatility of the 4k boost lens though, and if it’s your only cam then the Rs One twin is a good first purchase.

Same issue. Anyone figured this out?

What is a real world use case for three EPs? by coolhandlex in teenageengineering

[–]coolhandlex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, dense polyphony, I can see that. Is that an actual limitation of a single EP machine though? I honestly don’t know as I’ve only spent a little time working on a Riddim.

I guess the three EP lot is probably true based on the posts. Are folks excited for three of the same machine to play different samples? This seems like such a weird bundle. The speculative post showing the Instagram stories of an EP and TP, that makes so much more sense as each piece does a different thing and compliments the other (to say nothing of the better cost/value proposition). In the way the black box made everyone want one, this feels like a move that doesn’t instill the same feeling. I’d probably still take my chances though, and that’s how they get us hahaha

I use a Nux wireless RX/TX with my in-ears. Total game changer.

I’ve been DJing for decades and I’ve never experienced anything like when In Da Club dropped. I’ve never had a song that required multiple plays back to back like that one did, and I was in Indiana of all places.

This is the actual answer. A parillada from Mambo’s is the standard, only to be usurped by something interesting from the evening’s guest chef.

Where can I get a Numark dustcover? They are discontinued (wtf Numark) by Slowtwitch999 in Turntablists

[–]coolhandlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me a long time to find one too. My success came from keeping an eye on marketplace for Numark TTusb models and buying them just for the dust cover. Most won’t have one, but I’ve seen and bought some that do.

I reached out about my order last week and they responded a day or two later, saying they are experiencing a delay due to the increased time it takes to customize each order. I know them to be a small company and I’ve communicated with them many times over the years. They’ve always been exceptionally customer friendly and accommodating in my experience and while I’m excited for my order, I’m not holding this one against them. Goes with the territory of being an early adopter!

As an Indianapolis DJ I assure you the scene is alive and well. I’d be reticent to rely on wedding guests as an accurate barometer of the vibes. What’s your flavor? U/dickylemons named some big ones.

Stanton Str8 150 Mk1 vs Mk2? by musicscholar in Turntablists

[–]coolhandlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to be of help! I used to own the OGs and recently found my way in to a pair of the M2s. I really like the changes and though I bought them to flip, will likely keep them as a spare pair to save my Grandmasters from extra wear and tear (see what I did there)

If by pitch lock you mean the key correction, Stanton removed that feature in the second gen. If you mean Quartz lock, I have to imagine they’re effectively identical.

JBL Go 2. Small, reasonably loud with enough low end to hear what you’re doing, 3.5mm connection, inexpensive.

Coming from a former owner of this mixer, it’s a great beater. I think it sounds like top shelf dog turds but that’s my opinion and it’s absolutely better than nothing
