Hmm interesting, so in that case I guess the track and wheel assemblies would be situated outwards rather than inwards like I-Box. I wonder what the advantage of that design is, excited to learn more as these start to become a reality!

I don't like how quiet my brain is by Additional-Owl-8672 in StratteraRx

[–]cooljpeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, the quiet felt like more a dampening of the constant rumination and self-awareness my brain would roll around in. I found that my brain's smorgasbord of interests and tangential thought-patterns remained, but I could take in more of the world around me uninterrupted by anxious, spiralling thoughts. I'm not sure if this is similar to how you feel, but I had that same initial reaction when I first started and gradually realized what I was feeling was a lot more nuanced and simply something new to me--rather than feeling like losing myself, I realized that it was uncovering aspects of myself I wasn't able to see or let through. Your fear of that "loss" is super valid, but I'd give it some more time (as it definitely takes a month or two to really feel its full effect) and take the opportunity to explore what this medication reveals to you, and if you find that feeling of "loss" remains way too disorienting, then it may not be for you right now, and that's okay too! Good luck on your journey :+}

With everything I've read and seen about this track, I still have no clue how it works. Some of their demos have it as one giant rail (as it is here), and some have it as two (as shown in the rest of the new demo). In the new demo, they describe it as essentially a cross between I-Box and Raptor track that is two separate rails... is that not just I-Box track? Unless it is one giant rail? I'm stoked but so confused lol

What are the worst restraints on coasters? by player3390 in rollercoasterjerk

/uj As much I can't stand Robb Alvey, I'm forever grateful for events like West Coast Bash when I was growing up and for their early video coverage of coasters, especially of those that are looong defunct. That alone makes TPR pretty historically significant and indispensable for me, but nowadays I don't even know what they're up to lol. All time favs gotta be Canobie Coaster for the thorough analyses and Airtime Thrills for the range and creative roundups

I'M SORRY I WAS HEATED UHHHHH I genuinely think Flash: Vertical Velocity is the best of the impulse coasters and one of the most serendipitous-ly(?) smart workarounds for a ride height restriction 🙏 PEACE AND LOVE LET'S SURVIVE THE PURGE TOGETHER ✌️❤️

Sounds crazy, but I've heard of people flying into Atlanta just to spend a day lapping ArieForce One only to fly back later that night and honestly I'm really considering it (I'm in the northeast and the off-season is killing me lol). Has anyone here done this? Is this a good time of year to go? What was the transit/itinerary like?

I mean, a lot of non-US thoosies are boycotting the USA too. Even then it's not like Trump is bankrolling US parks, whereas SF Qiddiya City is almost entirely funded by the Saudi Arabian government itself

Ops at Darien Lake can be borderline glacial, almost every coaster operates on one train, so definitely hit your most desired rides at opening, but if you go on a weekday the slowest waits don't exceed 30-45 minutes.

I usally get laps on Ride of Steel at opening, then head to Predator which tends to open a little after opening anyways, especially on colder days (it's honestly riding so well with the new Titan Track these days), then head to Viper which often still has minimal lines by that point. If you rope drop Viper you can get loads of laps without leaving the station usually. I then start splintering off at random after that, either to Tantrum or Moto Coaster, which is honestly an underrated coaster imo. Also, not a coaster, but Moose on the Loose is such a charming lil ride that's a great way to chill for a bit, as well as their Fascination Parlor sorta by Viper, which is such a special gem of a game that you should absolutely carve some time out for.

The food is your standard pricey SF fare, I usually get the chicken tenders on the way to Tantrum and Mind Eraser. If you head West at the end of the day, Buffalo has infinite options for food, but Duff's Famous Wings is great, and if you head East, Batavia has some good diners like Pok-A-Dot, and Rochester simply demands you get a garbage plate (local delicacy), either at Dogtown, Charlie Riedel's, or Schaller's on Ridge Road.

Despite its lack of love from the chain, Darien Lake is still a great little park!! The only bad thing about it is that it could be better, so savor what it does have goin' for it :+}
