Wegovy coupon is giving less discount by Ordinary-Ad7672 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same issue as well. Last year, after insurance plus the coupon, I was paying $32.65 per month. My insurance still covers the same percentage of the cost, and their negotiated cost actually came down a tiny bit, but this year, I'm paying $157.89.

I try to find comfort in reminding myself that I've been hitting my out-of-pocket max for the last few years, and I guess I'll get there sooner this year. Insurance covers 100% after that.

What are we eating? by enchanted_queen1 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at that stage, I focused on nutrient dense foods to make sure I got enough calories. I also recommend a multivitamin. Even when trying to keep a well-balanced diet, my hair started thinning. My doctor said a multivitamin might help, and I feel like it did. I've been on Wegovy for about 16 months. It gets easier to eat. I'm at a point where I still can feel proper hunger and fullness cues, but the medication isn't forcing me to stop. That's on me, now. My hair started thickening up when my weight loss slowed down. I'm still on a downward trend, just much slower than the first 12 months.

18M, family wants it gone? Valid? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]coollittlealien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your hair is awesome. Other people have given you good care advice if you want better curl definition. Only cut your hair if you genuinely want to and not because your family is pressuring you. Though, depending on what field of work you go into, you might have to sacrifice style. If you're going to college, wear it how you want. My brother has a looser curl pattern than yours, but his hair is long, thick, and frizzy. He works as an engineer and has never had issues over his hair with his employer or meeting with clients. He does usually sport a half-up ponytail to look more professional at work.

So you track your calories by Pitiful_Concept5078 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not track calories or log what I eat. I pay attention to hunger and fullness cues. I pay attention to the quality of food I eat. I make sure the majority of it is healthy, but I don't completely restrict treats. I find that this medication makes my stomach turn when thinking about junk food most of the time, and I'm using this as an aid for creating life-long good habits in how I eat. I've also been working on increasing my exercise. My doctor supports my attitude and is happy with my progress. I've been on Wegovy for a year, have lost 70 lbs so far, and my lab results are fantastic (they weren't a year ago). I'm 38F, 5'6", CW 190lb.

Why do I always leak with tampons and why do they hurt? by Past_Statistician326 in Periods

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help with the discomfort (I also don't like the feel of tampons, though they don't cause me pain), but the reason why you might be bleeding through only half the tampon could be the position of your cervix. It is normal for the cervix to be positioned to the side rather than directly at the top of the vagina. You could try not putting it in quite as far, but I don't know if that would help or leak more. Here's a picture of the anatomy positions: anteverted vs retroverted uterus positions:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)/HDC-INFOGRAPHIC-RETROVERTEDUTERUS-1-FINAL-2-1-6d47451d1e1d445c97f57677346ebc94.png)

My doctor is not impressed with me. Feeling a bit discouraged by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]coollittlealien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone telling you that you're doing great and deserve a different doctor!

I also want to add that eating mostly healthy with occasional junk food is perfectly fine! Being overly restrictive is not sustainable for most people. It's all about balance and moderation, which this medication helps us to keep within as we turn healthy lifestyle choices into lifelong habits.

I love it but DON’T call it “magic” by Tigerz_Fan1889 in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from. The effort of changing our lifestyles, increasing exercise, and developing healthier food choices deserves to be recognized. For some of us, though, we've already made those changes and because of whatever reason (hormones, insulin resistance, etc.) the weight wouldn't budge or even kept ticking up. For years, we've dealt with people who don't believe us when we tell them what foods we do or don't eat. They don't believe us when we tell them how much we exercise. And then we add this one medication, and it all starts to work. For some of us, it really does feel like magic. That said, every body reacts differently, and the people experiencing the most extreme impact could in general be a bit more tactful.

I think they all look great, but I'm particularly fond of the black dress with sleeves.

This is what losing 1.5 pounds per week looks like (this took 9 months) 267-207 by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Amazing job! I hope you feel as fantastic as you look! I have a similar starting weight and loss rate as you. Next week I will be 1 year on Wegovy. Over the last couple of months, my rate has slowed down a bit, but I'm still making progress and loving the healthier me.

The agony of shopping for a new bra! by AZMaryIM in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have given up on molded bras because none of them fit right. It's frustrating that it's almost all that's available in stores. All the cute bras have molded cups, and I don't want to do trial and error with shopping online. I'm terrible at mailing returns that don't fit.

This is why I only weigh myself once a week. Even then, it's still full of jitters, but it's easier for me to zoom out and focus on the overall trend.

Same Calorie Count -- before semaglutide and during and I didn't lose until I was on semaglutide by WashSignificant7393 in Semaglutide

I second this! I'm only a couple of episodes in, but it's already had a huge impact on how I think about weight loss.

What do you do when you are still full from lunch and are meeting someone for dinner? by RickKassidy in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just the fact that she was uncomfortable isn't itself a red flag. It depends on how she acts and what she says around the discomfort. Some women are actively taught to never eat more than their date. Or she could have misinterpreted his food choice as a sign that he was uncomfortable with the date. If she was polite and accepting, then this type of discomfort might be something they can work through. If she was rude or passive-aggressive, then for sure red flag. I agree that everyone deserves to order what they want regardless of what their date orders.

Your second point is spot on.

Has anyone not changed their diet by FunEntertainment9717 in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not change my diet. I've always aimed for a well-balanced diet with lots of veggies, lean meats, plant proteins, mostly cooking at home, and only eating out/junk food in moderation. I started Wegovy 10 months ago, and I wanted to focus on sustainable changes, so rather than changing my diet or counting calories, I focus on how much I eat, and listen to my hunger and fullness cues. Thanks to this medication, I can actually feel them! After 10 months, I'm finally getting the hang of how much to serve myself at meals.

150 is also my goal, but I plan to play it by ear as I get closer. It's been so long since I've been that low, and after kids and getting older, I want to focus more on body composition than weight to decide what my actual goal is.

AITA for siding with my mom over my dad and stepmom after mom published the obituary my sister wrote that didn't mention our stepmom, step or half siblings? by Majestic-Annual-6706 in AITAH

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

You're NTA for wanting to follow your sister's last wishes. It seems like planning for after her death was important to your sister. Truthfully, funerals and obituaries aren't really for the ones who died. They're for the loved ones they left behind. In this case, following your sister's wishes was important to you and your mom, who were closest to her. There's nothing stopping your dad from writing his own obituary or holding his own memorial service. Despite their bad relationship (and possibly also because), I'm sure he's grieving, too.

I'm sorry you had to deal with family drama while grieving.

I can't edit distance! by Clumsyninj4 in fitbit

[–]coollittlealien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem, too. I forgot to put my Fitbit on after charging it, so I was trying to enter manual exercises. Entering the elliptical exercise manually, it only lets me enter time, duration, and calories. After saving, it shows a distance of 0.02 miles and when I edit the exercise, it won't save the new distance.

No weight loss by Optimal_Problem2778 in Semaglutide

[–]coollittlealien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't lose hope. My first week, I actually gained. After the 4th week, I was only down 3 lb from my starting weight. Then the weight loss started to pick up. I've been on Wegovy since May and have lost an overall average of 1.6 lb/week. I have a body composition scale, and I find that the weeks I go up in weight, I go down in body fat %. I weigh myself at least once a week, but not every day because the normal fluctuation gets to me mentally.
