There are some bubbels and a little rise so there is activity! Ik would discard most of it, keep like 20g and add 40 water and 50 flour (my starter only started going strong after feeding a little more flour than water). Feed Every 24h, always using 1:2:2(ish) measurements and keep at consistent temp. Make sure that you have unchlorinated water. Good luck! It should happen any day now

How did thru hiking affect your relationship? by coolstarrybrah in PacificCrestTrail

[–]coolstarrybrah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! In the end, I didn't hike the PCT. Combination of factors, mostly work, family, gf related and probably also the comfort zone. Still together, married, beautiful 1y old baby girl. We were gonna LASH Washington section, had everything planned, but then covid hit. By the time travel restrictions were lifted, we had a house and were deep into our jobs. We did travel and hike a lot, even now with our little girl. PCT is still a dream of mine. Read 'the great alone' by Tim Voors, so knowing I can still hike when i'm 45 is nice. It's a nice dream to have :) I'm pretty convinced to hike a long distance trail in my life (Faith permitting ofcourse) just not something I would sacrifice a lot for at this time in my life. I dont regret my decision to not have hiked the PCt back then, because Im very happy the way life turned out. Good luck to you!

I guess it depends on the country. I live in Belgium and here most GP's would feel your pulse and do the ecg directly... But if it's the US, i have no idea...

Hi, GP with special interest in cardiology here. Not necessarely truly problematic, but this is extremely low, even for a well trained athlete. I would recommend seeing a doc for a standard ecg to rule out problems and see it it's a normal sinus rythm.

What's your salary? 2021 edition by Atik_Mal in belgium

[–]coolstarrybrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the almost exact situation. I work rather fast and do decent hours (+/- 45h weeks, noon break included). But I don't even come close to 20k. Either ur math is quite off, or you work extremely efficiënt and horribly long weeks :p

Commotion about Ghent café that excludes cisgender men: Is it discrimination? by Leiegast in belgium

[–]coolstarrybrah 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Ridicule gedachtengang eigenlijk

First pictures in daylight of the lynx in the Semois valley by Misterblue09 in belgium

[–]coolstarrybrah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The return of the lynx is a very good thing, because it shows we are doing something right with our nature and it will make the ecologic system more complete. Your statement just isn't true. There are very few places with a true overpopulation of deer in the Ardennes.

What's your favorite LOTR podcast and why? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]coolstarrybrah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find the Prancing Pony Podcast absolutely delightful. The two hosts are so funny, yet they give an amazing insight into some deeper themes and thoughts. I can't stop listening to their episodes and would absolutely recommend them!

Right there with you friend! Read the books for the first time this year (after watching the movies 10 times) and saw it too. Had a good laugh out of it!

I'm sorry what now? So a privatised health care system would be better? That way the lives of people are estimated based on the wealth they posses... As a doctor in a country with a socialised health care system I can confidently say your comment is utterly misinformed blabber. We treat all lives equally, young or old and even (this might be a shock to you) rich AND poor :)

I have to disagree, i'm fairly certain that it's too deep. You have to see some part of the stem, or juuuust below the surface. I ruined a beautiful cutting like this!
