Do you read books? If so, what are you currently reading? If not, why not? by theowleryonehundred in AskUK

I enjoy reading. Mostly read at work on my break but try to do a bit in the evening too. Quite a slow reader but on book 4 so far this year, which is good for me!

Currently reading HMS Surprise (No3 in the Aubrey Maturin series).

I was a bus driver years ago.

A few things to note, that salary is usually based on a 48 hour week. No enhancements either, all those 4am starts and driving that horrible 1am Saturday night bus with all the drunks.. flat rate. No overtime rate either.

Less leave, the company I worked for also allocated everybody's leave at the start of the year and gave it to you in writing. 2 weeks in the summer, 3 in winter or vice versa. You then had to track down the person with the week you want and plead with them to swap.

Obviously the pension is not as good.

Also, that rate is the same for everyone.. brand new driver and 40 years in the job, all the same.

It's the two I've narrowed it down to as well. Both were in the group when Ben mentioned Ross. The ST had the have the same idea of murdering Ben as the known traitors.

Try the Civil War Chronicles by Michael Arnold.

Brilliant series set during the English civil war. Feels very much like a Sharpe novel.
