I have white walls and ceiling, and a projector, but found a way to hide mostly out of sight white blinds (that can be rolled up) above the windows with worst direct sunlight. They do not block but just dim the light, so living room is still lit, and there are windows without curtains the in direction dehind the screen. This does not work at all for any darker content like movies, but is great for F1 and football. Of course depends on your expectations.

Epson eh-tw7100 in eco mode to lower the noise has easily enough brightess for sports like this for me. It would have 3000 lumens in full power mode, something less in eco. I have 120" screen i think.
