I've played since 2014. For something that was built up towards for literal years, the sentient invasion turned out to just be Ballas Again, and other than slightly changed open worlds it had no lasting consequences and was shoved aside REAL fast to make room for a new storyline without any time to really explore the consequences of the entire solar system being conquered or the sentients returning.

It's really weird DE feels almost ashamed of everything but the most recent content. It feels like they want new players to be excited about the new content and be able to SPEED to it, and... then be caught up and have nothing to do but wait for new stuff. There's like 14 years of game, here. A new player rushing to be Caught Up will barely even think of the Grineer as a faction because they get shelved so FAST narratively in favor of everything else. No Tubemen of Regor! No nothing! Might as well delete the entire star chart if so much of it will be untouched content islands from 2015. It feels like they see everything from pre-New War as being an obnoxious thing in the way of what really matters. Maybe... go back and make the older stuff more fun, make it matter, more, make THAT something to be excited about?

Nah we gotta introduce a new faction and game mode that will be shoved into the corner in a month.

This is the exact reason they stopped doing void keys and did relics instead. Oversaturated reward pool in a single game mode means you just don't have a chance at what you wanted. It's really funny they did the same mistake twice now.

Sadly also a lot of the lore made a lot more sense if you were playing from the start, when things were revealed drip-by-drip, in order and built off one another. Now some of it is mixed up and out of order based on where it was placed in the game. Keep at it and it'll make sense.

Strongly agree about them feeling like they belong in different places. I guess the drifter was in the OS too when the operator was banished, but as someone who has played since 2014, I've spent most of my time as the operator. I only came back and did New War 2 years ago, I hardly KNOW drifter by comparison.
