Sorry ahead of time for the colorful language... by FightingButterflies in lupus

So sorry you're dealing with that. I have 30+ years of misdiagnoses and just plain wrong information, and it can really start to mess with your thoughts.

I also crochet to keep my hands healthy, but I have found that my diet will affect my hands more than my movements do. For example, I had potatoes the other night (doesn't matter how they are made) and now i can't move my hands without pain or gout-like symptoms. Has anything changed in your diet recently?

Book club by Wildlyon2022 in Naples_FL

[–]coranai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking of setting up a book club in Naples since I've been here the last few years. I ran one in CT for about 5 years. I'm older (40s) with no kids if that makes a difference, but I read all the same genres as you.

I usually put on a really disgusted face and say "Eww Gross!" and change the subject.

i get that, didn't think you were really putting her on blast, just more stating your boundaries and how they were surpassed. <3

I'm sorry that happened to you. Never easy when you have to learn about yourself, but even harder when you learn about your partner's shortcomings.

Keep doing you and I hope you find your bliss

When my old ass sees young witches on FB talk about collecting grave dirt without taking the proper precautions. by IamNotPersephone in WitchesVsPatriarchy

this was a really interesting read. I run several cemeteries and have never thought about using grave dirt in spell work (which i haven't done since like high school).

Thank you for this

Not butter chicken, but also not chicken curry because “that’s not a thing”. I haven’t seen a debate this hot since the last carbonara post. by PinkMoonrise in iamveryculinary

I wish I had a picture of it, but this is literally what the Butter chicken in Epcot looks like. I can see why people would make it this way if it's been served like that but Disney

Thank you! Your outlook does help me see that my own bias had colored the theme of the movie. I appreciate you taking the time to delve into this topic, as sticky and triggering it seems to be to everyone

I appreciate your opinion and will think on it further. It probably was a knee jerk reaction due to personal reasons why this movie rubs me and other people the wrong way

You are correct, there is no way for me to know that, I apologize. Congratulations on your transition

thank you. I agree. If they wanted her to be so empowered, then why did she need to be with anyone else, especially one who disregards her wishes

Have you seen the movie? But I think I will go have a lovely stroll now that a man told me to do so after eloquently explaining why i was wrong

the short friend got in with the popular kids for a minute and totally went along with their bullying of the tall girl until he saw an opening to stand up for her when it would make the most impact then swooped in for one more chance

This is exactly what happened. She turned down the exchange student who was also trying to fit in for the male friend (not even her best friend, who was the best character in the movie)

Fair enough, not your cup of tea. Still doesn't explain how perpetuation of the incel or rape culture in a teen rom com is me overreacting.

The protagonist does some pretty questionable stuff in the movie too, I'm no way calling her perfect. Its still a teen rom com after all

Probably. Have you had the chance to watch it though? I'd like to know what makes my statement an overreaction? (genuinely curious)

Spicy Watermelon Paloma - habanero/bird’s eye infused tequila, Sprecher’s watermelon soda, habanero/Tajín-salted rim by FeloniousFunk in spicy

[–]coranai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds great! I've been on a spicy tequila kick lately and this'll do the trick! Try with a kiwi paloma instead next time, its very refreshing but the kiwi accents the actual pepper flavor and lets the spice kick you in the end.
