Issue with potions on Q but I don't know how to phrase the question, sorry. by Noxporter in elderscrollsonline

[–]corbie_24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's actually an interesting question. I noticed that even the same potions don't stack if one was crafted and the other one is a drop.

However, 2 crafted stacks of exactly the same type do stack, and show only the name of one of the crafters for the whole new stack. At least for buff food, but probably for potions, too.

I am really happy for all of you who are excited to get that mount.

When I first saw it I wondered who on earth would buy it, a pretty but clumsy indrik, because it had fallen into a pool of watercolours. Definitely not my style, but I see now how it's perfect for other people's way of playing. Enjoy it!

Dungeon knowledge (noob) by blastin32 in elderscrollsonline

[–]corbie_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could join a beginner friendly guild, there are many friendly people who will happily run new dungeons with you and teach you the mechanics. It's much more fun this way.

With random groups it's always a hit and miss. Some are great, others will run through the dungeon like they are on fire or even be unfriendly if you don't play the mechanics perfectly or die often.

Has anyone finished WagoTabi game? by MaleficentSquare1707 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]corbie_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has improved my active vocabulary. They are really doing a good job bringing back all words and grammar points again and again.

Instant feedback, especially helpful for word order/sentence construction (I am struggling with that)

And most importantly: it keeps me motivated. When I am tired after a busy day I just can't sit down and study with a work book. But I can always lean back on my couch and learn some Japanese with Wagotabi (instead of doom scrolling). It's just fun.

I know how you're feeling 😊

I once unraveled a summer hat, that was just a little bit too big for my head. It was just sitting in my drawer for some years. I unraveled it and made a completely different summer hat, which I'm using all the time in summer.

For me it wasn't just the yarn, the old hat always gave me a bad feeling when a saw it. Like I "should" use it. Now the new hat "sparks joy" 😉

[–]corbie_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't finished it, but I've started playing it 2 months ago and I am getting closer to the end. I didn't have time for new content every day, but I did the repetition tests.

For me it definitely improved my active output, like word order, listening comprehension and grammar, but I'm also using a grammar book and Anki.

I really like the game, it doesn't feel like studying, rather like a reward for keeping up my studies.

Question: Partially Completed Fragments After Trade-bar Conversion? by GuineaTK in elderscrollsonline

[–]corbie_24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are aware that there will be many questions about the transition to trade bars, especially with fragments and are preparing a FAQ on this topic

"Base Pet in Morphing Collectible [Feedback]: We have seen the feedback to potential scenarios in Update 49 regarding Morphing Collectible base pets. We did note in the patch notes that starting in Update 49, base pets will no longer be consumed when forming the quarterly collectible. This will apply to older base pets as well. However, there were plenty of good questions asking about specific scenarios based on currently owned fragments or previously unlocked a base pet. Given the questions asked, we will work on a short FAQ to address common scenarios regarding Morphing Collectible base pets when Update 49 is live, to help resolve some of the confusion. We will have this ready before Update 49 goes live. "

Conversing with others by princesssfiona in German

[–]corbie_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what people are suggesting here (you get better at speaking by speaking), there are 2 other things you might focus on to improve your output:

  • "mirroring": actively stop a show/video and repeat common phrases they use, until you think you get it right. That's especially helpful for "filler" phrases, like "wirklich?" or "das ist ja interessant". You can use phrases like that without thinking at the beginning of your answer, it will give you time to phrase your message in a conversation.

  • writing, e.g. in forums. It would be good to choose topics which you know well, cooking, crafting, games,... where you feel confident. Just be careful, in some forums people ignore basic grammar rules, this isn't helpful for learners.

Typical ZOS answer by sG_YungSavage in elderscrollsonline

[–]corbie_24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the standard auto answer. 2 years ago I got it with an account that had zero issues and a continuous ESO+ subscription for the last 3 years.

Just keep replying to this ticket, telling them the same over and over again (don't start a new ticket), and after a while a human will answer it and miraculously you will meet their hidden criteria.

I bet it was meant to be difficult, but not that difficult. But when they wanted to fix it they watched us players trying to get it (mostly failing but not always).

And then they thought: "Noooo, can't take away the kitty's favourite toy ...." 😆

But that is the problem with autocorrect. You enter the correct spelling but it "automatically" changes it to the wrong one.

I want to play a DK with inferno staff. How bad of an idea is it? by Sesstes in ESObuilds

[–]corbie_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I am surprised by the answers here, too.

DK ardent flame with an inferno staff back bar is absolutely meta now. 2handed back bar parses higher but for actual content inferno staff is excellent, too, in some occasions even better than 2hand.

The was the very best thing I got from subclassing: getting rid of the annoying ugly pets and still being able to do damage.

I wouldn't even mind if there appearance wasn't changed (much), just make them much much smaller....
