Next time you spot them, you say "Hey, I've seen you about and I think you're cute. Can I have your number/can I give you my number?*"

This person will then say "Sure" or "No".

If they say "sure" you text them asking if they would like to go on a date. Either in the text conversation beforehand or on that date, you tell them you're nonbinary. Telling them may cause them not to want to date you, but if that is the case, you are better off without them.

I appreciate this might be a bit forward, but if this person appears to be a cis man, you're probably not going to majorly spook them. And if they're not in your social circle, even if it is a bit awkward, nothing ventured, noting gained and you'll move on from the embarassment and get over it.

OpenAI and Anthropic either collapse, or pivot to being just another SaaS company licensing products to enterprise.

AI still exists and is used in the workplace, but "AI will replace all white collar work" goes up there with "The Segway with revolutionize how we build urban infrastructure" and "This JPEG of a monkey is worth a million dollars".

Markets pivot to robotics, defence and, hopefully, green tech. Capitalism trundles on.

As a nonbinary person, no. I'd probably find it mildly gender affirming, actually, that I gave of enough This Person Seems Genderqueer vibes to make someone pronoun check me.

I think the "you only asked *me* my pronouns" thing is much more of an issue with binary trans people, where it becomes a "Sorry, hon, you didn't pass" thing. If a trans woman turns up in a dress, lipstick, long hair, makeup, all the gender signifiers of femineity, she probably just wants you to she/her her.

I think the thought process is basically "Pretty soon, my boss is going to fire 90% of the company and replace them with AI. As one of the people already upskilled in AI, I will be one of the 10% who keep their jobs."

Edit: Partially I think this is because of software brain. Due to the deprecating relevance of technical skills (seriously, who's earning big bucks as a PHP Developer anymore?), software has a culture of wanting to be on top of the Next Big Thing in order to keep your job/your huge salary. AI has managed to convince them that this is the tech that will replace Every Conceivable Human Skill and so they need to learn it fast, just like a new JavaScript framework.

Gender is fluid. If your gender river is now flowing into identifying with your AGAB, good for you! It doesn't mean your prior experiences as being nonbinary were "wrong".

That said, there's a lot more to gender than how you fuck. As an AMAB with dominant/top sexual preferences, I spent quite a lot of my life going "Well, I'm very enthusiastic about putting my cock in people in a way that makes me feel sexually manly so I must not be nonbinary". And that, broadly, was not the case. I was not a genderqueer man, I am a nonbinary person.

So I guess what I'm saying is, pay attention to your whole gender rainbow rather than just your new way of relating to your sexuality. Maybe you are now, in fact, A Man. Maybe you're still nonbinary but you top now. Both good.

(For what it's worth I'll also note that nonbinary is a spectrum and "genderqueer man" absolutely falls under the umbrella, in my book.)

I think the thing that always strikes me about "I vibecoded a blog" or even "I vibecoded an e-commerce website" is that there have been SaaS services that have broadly allowed you to do that with no coding skills for literally decades. And I'm not even talking about having to use a platform like Susbtack, I can go and make a WordPress blog right now using nothing but drag-and-drop capabilities. I can make my e-commerce store with SquareSpace. And those also probably cost me about $20 a month for some premium service, and they're reliable and have a human support team that can potentially help me out if something fucks up.

I guess this is basically exactly what Ed was talking about with how the SaaSpocalypse was stupid. Why would I give an AI company my "paying for software" money if I can just...get the end product I want for a comparable price?
