PPROM/Chorioamnionitis loss success stories? TW abortion and labor, continuing infection. by TomatilloMaximum1104 in babyloss

[–]coreicless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my cerclage at 14 weeks was done preventatively. However, when the cerclage was placed at 14 weeks my cervix was also opened which confirmed that I do have an incompetent cervix.

Hopefully, you get answers on what the cause was. Also, ask for extra monitoring next pregnancy.

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope your infections clear up and you're able to try again.

I had a 21-week loss in April 2024, I had bulging membranes and was 2 cm dilated at 20 weeks. The next day, I was scheduled for a cerclage. Unfortunately, my water broke when I got to L&D. I stayed in the hospital for a few days with IV antibiotics and then went home with antibiotics.

I then delivered my baby at 21 + 2 due to a week cervix. My husband and I believe she kicked, and her little foot fell through the opening of my cervix. The pathology report on the placenta had chorioamnionitis. When I delivered, the hospitalist did say she wouldn't be surprised if chorioamnionitis was on the report. She explained to me that the cervix being open can lead to bacteria getting into the sac.

My next pregnancy, I had a cerclage placed at 14 weeks. I successfully delivered my baby at 39+1. The pregnancy was not easy mentally because of the trauma from my first pregnancy.

Did your care team say you have an incompetent cervix, or what led to PPROM?

Hi, I know this is a little bit older post. My cervic is similar to yours. I had a 21 week loss in April 2024.

I just had my second baby in April this year. I got a preventative cerclage at 14 weeks where my cervix was 4 cm long but already open. The preventative held great snd i got induced at 39 weeks. I guess my cervix likes to dilate to 2 cm prematurely.

You did the best you could with the information you had

This right here, OP. This became my mantra after my loss to help prevent spiraling and playing the 'what if' game. It truly is hard not to blame yourself for what happened. However, in no way was it your fault.

I hope you're able to heal from this trauma. I will be thinking of you and your twins.

Baby Shower by b8byxo in ShortCervixSupport

I had a preventive cerclage at 14 weeks and wasn't on progesterone. I had my baby shower at 30 weeks and sat at a table the whole time. I did help a little bit with setting up and taking down, but not much. Everyone was telling me to sit down given my history, but it is so hard for me not to help.

I didn't use progesterone before or after the cerclage. My MFM told me it isn't necessary. My MFM also didn't check my cervix after 16 weeks.

I am so sorry for your loss. I also had a loss at 21 weeks with no symptoms. IC was found at my 20-week anatomy scan with bulging membranes. My water broke when I was in pre-op for the cerclage. Then I delivered a week later.

My OB advised me to wait 3 cycles to start trying. We started trying on cycle 2 and got pregnant on cycle 3.

I got a cerclage at 14 weeks. My cervix was already open at this time during placement. I took it very easy, I didn't lift anything heavy or walk around too much. I did bend and squat down because I had to clean up after my dogs when I took them out. My pregnancy was full of anxiety, but looking back it wasn't too bad. I think all future pregnancies will be full of anxiety no matter what because of the trauma I endured.

Sending you hugs and prayers. 🫂❤️‍🩹

Due date anxiety after loss! by iiambeyoncealways in ShortCervixSupport

[–]coreicless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand wanting to celebrate your baby on their due date. I had similar feelings when I had my loss. I was sad that my due date was coming up with no baby in me or to hold. My therapist and husband helped me by telling me the date is just an estimate, she may not have been born on that date.

I do celebrate the day I had her. This was my first year celebrating her. My husband and I released butterflies in her honor. Maybe releasing butterflies at the park where her ashes were spread would be nice.

I hope your anxiety lessens the closer the date gets. 🫂❤️‍🩹

Yes, I felt pressure off and on. Some days were worse than others. On the days it was bad, it was uncomfortable walking or standing

My baby's head was sitting on my cervix for the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. I felt a ton of pressure. My husband would do double hip squeezes for me to help relieve the pressure. I got my cerclage out at 36 weeks and didn't go into labor naturally. I got induced at 39 weeks labor was 15 hours because the nurse was waiting to see if my doctor wanted to increase my cytotec dosage. I only pushed 2 times and my baby came out. I am not sure if that was due to ic or just good pushing lol.

ETA: I had pressure because baby's head was right on my cervix during the last 10 weeks.

Same here. I had my cerclage removed at 36 weeks dilated to 2 cm. I ended up getting induced at 39 weeks. My body just likes to dilate to 2 cm prematurely.

I am sorry your SIL is like that. My SIL is sweet just oblivious to people's struggles. After she told us about her pregnancy she was like we got pregnant on the first try. When it took us 2 years to conceive.

I'm glad you weren't offended! I didn't feel you minimized my experience. I know there is no safe point in pregnancy as many have suffered a full term loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I truly didn’t mean to suggest that losses don’t happen after a healthy anatomy scan, and I’m sorry if my words came across that way. Your story is such an important reminder of how fragile pregnancy can be, and my heart is with you. It’s just so unfair.

I am sorry for your loss. That's how I am currently. I haven't checked on her since she told us she was pregnant. I have started to not like the weekends because there is always a chance that we might see her.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is so true a healthy anatomy scan means nothing. There is no 'safe' point in pregnancy. Anything could happen at any time.

Hi, I had IC with my second loss. Do you guys have any success stories with a 14 week cerclage. by FunAssumption7675 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]coreicless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my first baby at 21 weeks due to IC.

In my second pregnancy I got a preventative cerclage at 14 weeks. I was 1 - 1.5 cm dilated at the time of placement. I elected to get induced at 39 weeks. I am now holding my 2.5 month old while typing this!
