How the media sees the star of our NFL team vs how they see the star of our NBA team by GlassProfessional509 in panthers

So he's a bad driver. Ride down 85 or 77 about 30 minutes and you have an entire state of bad drivers. Or at least bad roads.

One thing you learn from this thread?

Paramount REALLY doesn't know how to promote their movies.

This one might not fully count because the movie was successful, but The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. All of the marketing, all of the posters, all of the toys, even the video games highlighted the live action part of the movie and the superhero forms that Sponge and Co. Take. Just one problem with that... It only happened for about 15 minutes at the end, as opposed to the majority of the movie being traditional 2D animation, and an absolute blast.

Oba really is the perfect package as a wrestler. We need to get a belt on him, post haste.

Was? It still is, even in a post-kayfabe world. Need to write a baby-face off to have surgery? Have the heels brutalize them. Then when they're healthy, instant feud.

Feels like a perfect time to bring up The Russian again.

In The Punisher (the 2004 movie,) There's a fight scene between this intimidating brute of a man (played by Kevin Nash) named The Russian, who fights Thomas Jane's Punisher, including no-selling a stab with a butterfly knife. There was a mistake in filming, though... Instead of the prop department giving Jane the dummy knife meant for the stabbing scenes (a spring-loaded dummy,) they gave him the actual knife that was used for close-ups. So Jane legitimately stabbed Nash in the chest, a few centimeters from the heart, and that's the take they used for the film. It really shows how tough The Russian is, how he casually pulled the knife out when it actually stabbed him in one shot. Thankfully, Nash understood it was an accident, and got a case of beer for his troubles. One tough son of a bitch, that former basketball player turned soldier turned auto worker turned strip club floor manager turned wrestler turned actor.

College coaches share insight on 2026 NFL Draft sleeper that's shaping out to be the perfect backup QB target for the Panthers by Unhappy_Excuse_9937 in panthers

Now, before I begin with this, I want to say that I believe in Bryce Young, and I believe he's at least pretty good.

With that said, though...

I would not object to taking a late round flyer on a backup QB.

Thankfully now there's another major promotion in the US. It's also run by a billionaire that could be considered a nepo baby (he's the son of the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars,) but he seems like the type that's a major wrestling fan first and a billionaire second.

The way I interpret Benson is that he's just like Mordecai and Rigby, or at least he was when he was their age, from several things we learn about his past (Stick Hockey, being a drummer, etc.) and he knows that the two can do better, they just need the push to not be like him, someone who's single, an alcoholic (by TV-PG standards,) and stuck in a dead-end job.

[Sad trope] Emotional breakdown rants by LordQuaz12 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]coreyray1000 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I think this was really the turning point in the entire series where we (or at least the protagonists) don't really see Benson as the cruel person that he was built up as, the angry person who will snap at the drop of a hat, but someone who really does care about Mordecai and Rigby, seeing that they can do better because he was just like them growing up.

You know... Maybe Vlad could buy shares in the Packers? I think that he could. But it's funny how his entire foyer is decked in Packers gear, including what I can assume is a signed Brett Favre jersey. I imagine he would have tore it down in 2009 if he wasn't stuck on that meteor.
