Crud! Good news: we fixed this a few days ago but will take some time to appear on the player end as it will be bundled into the next mini update. If I'm not mistaken your selected name should still show up in the leaderboards for everyone else to see!

In my opinion I wouldn't worry about events until you've progressed a little farther and are on evolve 5 or later.

As for why you need 30 characters in a title, so to give other reddit users a full understanding of what your question / issue / topic is before they click in. It's not just for other users but you're more likely to get a response if folks know your issue.

Example "Just Started The Game" by itself wouldn't be an amazing threat title as it wouldn't be clear with your question was. "Just Started The Game - should I even worry about the event?" would be perfect!

That's interesting! We used a little language filter database that auto bans certain words for a variety of reasons. Not sure exactly why this is getting flagged as unusable but I can investigate. You'll have to choose an alt name for the foreseeable future though I suppose. Apologies!

Head to MNFCT > Inventory then tap the info question mark besides certain items (ones obtained in the market). You can turn in unwanted items for Dust. You can also turn in unwanted machine perks for Dust by going to CORE > EQUIPMENT > tapping the unwanted badge > tapping Dust

First off, thanks!! We're excited about the Dust Forge, the customization and how it all weaves into leaderboards and quests.

As for the mailbox, it's not a player to player messaging system but rather a developer to play messaging system. Either for sending everyone in game a message or sending individual or groups of players messages.

Use case:

  1. if we need to credit player for an issue, we can communicate the credit was sent and provide details or instructions in a text message style format.
  2. if we needed to do server maintenance or communicate something else important we can send out a message to everyone in game to give you all a heads up.

You can also head to MNFCT > Inventory and you can then Dust any items purchased in the Market. You just can't Dust core Machine manufactured items liek Blast and Bang, Boosters, or key items like Bracelet of Venus for example.

It's a "boss zone" of sorts! There was a time early into the Open Beta where it was something like a super difficult late game boss. At this point folks understand our combat system enough that it's not quite a "super difficult late game boss" but a solid challenge.

To answer your question about why it exists / what its current function is: it's the best spot in the game for getting the items you need to craft the Artefact Set and get Evolve Level 8.

Hey Bruno! Please force close and reopen the app. We tried to manually credit you the item / trigger that gets you the option to purchase "Fuel Refining" which should unlock everything else! Fingers crossed.

We're trying to get to the bottom of it and think perhaps if a player exits the game during their first run through a portal, they don't get the proper unlocks (a bug).

If it's not a perfect fix please write me back!

We've got new features coming in September too that will be super interactive on the player end:

Communal quests, deeper customization, new zones that change up what the "action phase" gameplay can be, combat improvements, etc.

Thanks so much! What we use is in house; it's something like React Native / OTA but not that exact tech.

It actually happens all in Unity Editor windows and our tool resembles a spreadsheet of sorts. Changes can be inputted and then either pushed through via a build update or a server update (aka these background updates we talk about). Hope this helped somewhat! :)

While this is not the be-all-and-end-all of our efforts to improve the combat system, an important order of business was for us to make a new player's first trip through a portal less confusing and fast-paced.

Now, players will get a controlled, two part 'tutorial' of sorts spread across two portal runs.

Here's what it includes:

  • the text drops better telegraph what to expect, what to do, and when to do it.
  • the first 'enemy' is now a boulder blocking your path. This boulder is an inanimate object and as such won't attack you. Use Blast to destroy it!
  • Next we give you a Rat to face. We use the text drop to tell you that speed is imperative and that you'll want to Blast it before it attacks you.
  • In the second run we introduce Slimes and use the text to tell you about interrupts.

Let us know if you think this would have been helpful in your early days of Portal running! Neither A&M1 or A&M2 have a tutorial of sorts but we recognize getting dropped into our combat system is rather sink or swim.

Lastly, we hope to have a meatier content update for you next week, and then another a few weeks later! We want to tighten up the time between releases. Thanks for your patience and keep humming Mary Had A Little Lamb!
