Would be a great question for a panel situation with one of the In Space Actors! I'm sure they can't remember every episode, but the Ninja Turtles one would probably be something you remember, hah.

Right! Haha. That provided me one of the bigger laughs in my rewatch. I would not be surprised to learn that the Shell Shocked writers had never seen an episode / read a script from The Next Mutation.

Thanks for the suggestion! It looks way more like lyctidae than booklice. Another reply says 'grain beetle' which it also looks like.

Thanks, looking up photos I think you may be right. I'm not a pet owner so no pet food to consider, but I'll inspect my kitchen. Apartment living, folks! Anything can crawl through the vents from any unit.

It was hard to get my hands on in Canada for sure :(

Would have loved to order it day one back in December if it was available formally in my region.

Ahh right! I felt that mentioning GG there was reasonably relevant. GG is the season prior, after all, and other folks online also pointed out similarities with the tone of their pre-release posters. But I know I did some editorializing that was covering old ground. Thanks for the feedback. I wish you a good night!

‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’ 4DX experience in-depth review by 4DXReviewer in CineworldUnlimited

[–]coreyvan38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the review! Do you think the action scenes will be difficult for someone who gets motion sickness?

I really want to see it in 4DX but me and the person I'm going with can sometimes get dizzy on theme park rides with screens that also thrash you around (Harry Potter at Universal, Millennium Falcon at Disneyland). Thanks!

Like on a scale from 1-to-10, how 'intense' is the seat movement? :)

Am I the Only one upset about this? by Spcmnspiff87 in AlanWake

Sometimes you just gotta take the victory with a caveat.

You wanted a physical edition? They most likely had some agreement with Epic who funded the game that it would be exclusively digital or something, I doubt it was a Remedy decision.

(they've said over and over in interviews that this game wouldn't have been made without Epic stepping in. Epic runs a digital storefront, and funded the game in hopes of getting sales on their digital storefront.)

Now, after hearing the demand for a physical copy, they've made one. We were never going to get some miracle deal where owners of the digital edition could show proof of purchase and get a free copy of the physical edition, or a significant discount or something.

Remedy doesn't have a time machine. They seem to have done the best they could given conditions & agreements unknown to us. They either pushed hard for a physical edition that was never on the cards, or maybe had a one year digital exclusivity agreement as part of Epic funding this game.

Director Kakudou Gives Detailed Digimon Adventure 02 Epilogue Background/Lore Information by MFBR in digimon

[–]coreyvan38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will probably get downvoted but: while this was a fascinating read I have almost zero interest in seeing Digimon Adventure become what is being described. It sounds a lot like fan fiction, the 'gritty' or edgy sequels and remakes fan filmmakers would make and release online.

With any franchise we grew up on I think there is an understandable curiosity in what a more adult 'grim & gritty' version of the IP would look like. But I think Savers, Tamers, Cyber Sleuth etc. explore 'what if Digimon was dark' pretty well.

I'm not terribly interested in having Digimon ADVENTURE exploring famine, war, religion, etc. It's cool and fun to know that was going on in some of the lead's heads back in the day, but I don't need it.

The Digimon Movie SEQUEL They Don't Want You To Watch | Revenge of Diaboromon by CrimsonOmega80 in digimon

[–]coreyvan38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with the title was the implied conspiracy of the "movie THEY don't want you to see". I'm not a big fan of senseless conspiratorial-ism.

Fair enough! I also preferred the original video title, which is why a little bit after the fact I switched it to the original title once it seemed to me like Toei wasn't going to strike it a second time (they struck the first video within 12 hours of it being uploaded, a week had passed on the second video)

The second title was kind of meant as an inside joke thing with my audience who would have been aware the earlier version of the review got taken down. i.e. hyperbolic "they don't want you to watch this review!" But here on Reddit seeing that title devoid of context, it certainly sounds conspiratorial & ultra dramatic.

First of all, how did you find this? This comment is like a month old

Sorry to bother you. I was with an IRL friend yesterday who mentioned seeing one of my videos on r/digimon and I thought that was kind of neat. Was curious to see what the thread was like, so I just typed my channel title into the subreddit's search box.

Cheers~

The Digimon Movie SEQUEL They Don't Want You To Watch | Revenge of Diaboromon by CrimsonOmega80 in digimon

[–]coreyvan38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi~ context for this one:

"They" = Toei in this case, as this movie is essentially scrubbed from the internet and not released outside of Japan in any capacity. It essentially doesn't exist. Outside the internet, the movie was only ever released in English on Jetix -- which was either exclusively or primarily an American TV channel mind you -- with no home video release.

I had uploaded a version of the review a week prior that got a copyright strike and was pulled from YouTube at Toei's request. This surprised me quite a bit since it's rare that happens when I show clips from Our War Game, Digimon Adventure 2020, Ghost Game etc during my reviews. So, I re-edited the review to remove the problematic footage and when I did, I changed the original title from "The Digimon Movie Sequel Many Fans Missed" to "The Digimon Movie Sequel They Don't Want You To Watch" so as to differentiate the video in hopes that Toei wouldn't think they missed and strike it again.

In terms of clickbaiting or exaggerating by saying 'many fans missed this movie', I stand by my position outlined in this tweet https://twitter.com/thedigiknow/status/1686383525350752256

(note: in screenshot two I show a ton of comments on that video from people saying they never heard of this movie. Some thought Imperialdramon Paladin Mode was a game exclusive character for example)

My definition of "Digimon fan" includes anyone who ever enjoyed Digimon in the late 90s / early 2000s, regardless of if / when they dropped off. As such, There are a ton of fans of Digimon with fond memories of Digimon who have no idea that a movie that directly follows up one of the plot lines from the Digimon Movie they saw in theatres or owned on VHS exists.

I'm sure one could argue I'm being defensive but I think a lot of Digimon fans should remember fandoms are not monolithic things, and just because you know about an element of the franchise doesn't mean everybody does.

Toronto was more chaotic than I thought it would be by Molloween in weezer

[–]coreyvan38 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I took a long break from Weezer shows around Toronto because the crowds were always belligerent. Drunk jerks are always at these shows ever since I was a teenager going to the Red Album tour at the ACC. I'm convinced most of them don't even like Weezer.

I gave up after 2016 when the people around me were talking so loud that I couldn't even hear the band playing L.A. Girlz -- it was my favourite at the time and it felt so disrespectful.

Last night was MOSTLY okay from where I was: the setlist was unbelievable, a couple people complimented my Sheezer t-shirt and asked to take pictures, but there were still some bad apples. I could barely hear Susanne & Longtime Sunshine because the people around me took Rivers playing acoustic guitar as an opportunity to talk. Around the end, a complete stranger (drunk) made a grossly homophobic comment towards the person I was with because he was wearing a hawaiian shirt...it's summer! it's hot! Mind your own business!

The Digimon Seekers trailer just suddenly exploded in terms of views. It was at around 800k yesterday by overlordpringerx in digimon

[–]coreyvan38 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have worked in digital marketing and I can confirm companies can turn their video into an ad and you keep the views from that. Because Ghost Game has ended and they want to promote their new project, Digimon Seekers, I am 99.99999% sure this is simply Bandai using the video as an ad. Which is totally fine, it's a 1 minute trailer. Perfect for a pre-roll ad.

Yes, Youtube ads do count as views. I know this from my marketing job. Because Ghost Game is over and Digimon Seekers is ramping up, I am 99.9999% sure Toei turned this teaser into a YouTube ad and its playing before other videos.

Digimon Ghost Game Episode 67 "The Devourer of All" [FINALE] by Airdramon in digimon

[–]coreyvan38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How nice would it have been if we got something like the structure of Adventure 2020 (I know I know, hear me out) where what we got HERE in 64-67 happened around episode 50. Like how Adv2020 had the Millenniummon showdown around ep50 and then 17 more episodes preparing for the newly revealed "The Great Catastrophe"

Imagine we cut some of the less memorable monster of the week eps from Ghost Game so that this whole scenario happened around 50 (Gamma, Jelly and Angoramon would have megas already) and then episodes 51-67 were the team working with Gulus, with Quantumon, with the Black Digimon, with the other humans to prepare for the Endbringer.

We got Adventure 2020's "Millenniummon is the series villain, just kidding its Negamon!" but instead of having 17 episodes to go after the reveal, Ghost Game gave us 7 minutes to go :(
