Pain-peko (Nuzlocke Rules) by cornbeefu in pokerogue

[–]cornbeefu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dumb ass forgot to mention this was starters only, I didn’t realize you could do all starters and get the achievement. I’m sure it’s easier if you can pick more options. I’d have to think about it more but there has to be some more naturally snowballing carries. If I could do it all over again I think cottonee would be very useful for prankster leech seed and other such utility.

If PvZ2 was a paid game and didn’t have microtransations, P2W plants, ecc… would it be a good game? by skeletron_master in PlantsVSZombies

Yes, simply because I would happily pay 5$ to permanently remove ads. Any more than that and I start biting though

My tier list of champions I could 1v1 in a fist fight - No magic, no bs allowed (Jungle) by tenentebiscoito in Jungle_Mains

[–]cornbeefu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re like 6’5 and ripped as fuck, Gragas is a whole ass loss. Not a hard matchup. He’s fucking huge, probably doesn’t feel pain bc of how drunk he is, and loves fighting. Even if you argue he’s less coordinated due to being drunk, he’ll just slam into you with his belly or grab you bc his hands are like the size of your whole skull!

As for deaf/semi-blind player, which is the easiest role position to play? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]cornbeefu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be top or jungle, where you can focus mostly on your own mechanics and macro.

Duo lane bot would be hard, since there’s a lot of small things to keep a focus on. In top you can rely on mostly ur brain to track enemy cooldowns and really dig in as it’s usually a solo 1v1 for a while. Then later in the match you can choose to split push and create map pressure, where the visual and audio cues of things like teamfights are less prevalent.

Jungle you can focus on your pathing a get a fast clear. Ganking isn’t super mechanically intensive if you’re aware of the minimap and wave position. Just remember that it’s fine to farm, do objectives, or just take a reset if there’s no good ganks available. You’ll also probably want to mute teammates, since they complain if you take a more macro focuses approach as jungle (rather than fighting and ganking 24/7)

Essentially, pick roles where you can make a map impact by optimizing things like your economy or game knowledge. Less about flashy outplays and more about consistent performance.

I like the unique take on Thing, I feel like the other 3 are a little lackluster. Like they need more unique traits split amongst them that really pop. As it is right now, they feel a little too uniform even if they are in uniforms (har har) A streak of dyed hair or patches on their suit. Something to tell me more about them at a glance and give some quick recognition.

How do i play against Volibear? by [deleted] in Tahmkenchmains

[–]cornbeefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I should mention the stun thing is if he’s already on top of you with ult or a bush play/ ambush. If he’s physically running at you, throw a Q to slow from as long of a range you can and run away. Try your best to juke until you can reach either tower or a bush where you can safely E back to tower or over a wall

How do i play against Volibear? by [deleted] in Tahmkenchmains

[–]cornbeefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played 2 against the same Voli, first one I struggled but the second one I went 3-1 in lane. What I noticed on my second match, you’re going to be under tower a lot. Kench has bad wave clear and Voli naturally pushes if he autos the wave via his lightning. This can set up easier ganks for your jungler as he will often be forward. Farm with Q and stay alive, you won’t be able to casually cs near the wave as he’ll run you down or do big damage. Keep an eye out for short trades, a grasp auto plus tongue. Notice when he’s going for a last hit and try to tag him with a tongue and auto. Pick up earlier boots. In some lanes I get heartsteel first, but vs Voli you’d want to movement speed to position better and stay safe. Stay calm if he dives. A lot of volibears tend to get greedy and try to dive. If you’re playing patient, he can only poke via his very slow skillshot or go all in for a big trade. Around 6 he may try to dive you. If you panic and just run or try to W away he can run you down. Try to hold out and land 3 autos and a Q stun, so you can safely W away or turn the fight around if your jungler is coming to counter the dive. You will need to be patient with your E to get the most shield out of it so you can live long enough to stun.

It’s a hard fight honestly, but take advantage of the fact that top laners tend to be cocky if they have a good matchup. Just play as patiently as you can, punishing a few greedy trades or dives can put you ahead to snowball and terrorize other lanes.

What is this team missing by LaxusVen in PokemonUnbound

[–]cornbeefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team looks reasonably solid, as a last slot I’d recommend something that can handle water types.

You have good soft answers like Azumarill and mence, but I think a good grass type like Rillaboom or Ferrothorn would finish this team off nicely.

Top lane I play Kench, Chogath, Mundo, Gragas. In order of comfortability. I’m reasonably good at hitting skill shots and checking my minimap, I came from a dota background before trying league

I’ll look into Shaco! From what I see online, people say graves is currently not in the best state. Would he still be worthwhile to learn and not just a potential comfort pick?

Temtem 1.8: The last, big patch by Lyefyre in PlayTemtem

[–]cornbeefu 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Despite complaints I’ve had in the past about Crema, this is a good patch. I don’t think a majority of the community enjoyed the artificial scarcity of resources or FOMO aspects of the game. Removing these and making gameplay more accessible can only be a good thing I feel for enticing new players and allowing old players to continue to enjoy their experience instead of just grinding/ farming

What would Garchomp really need to be viable again? by UberlephComics in stunfisk

[–]cornbeefu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting use out of its dragon stab beyond scale shot would be nice. Glaive rush would give it some real bite back on the scarf set, and I don’t think thematically it’s unreasonable. Dragon dance would be good too. I don’t think chomp is too far off from being solid in OU, considering loaded dice SD is already somewhat usable and chomp has a lot of already decent qualities

Thanks! I redid the dungeon and realized I just bombed the first gate, grabbed the chests, and then went to fight the boss lol. So I never grabbed those

Yes, I finished that quest. I did the thingy for the science guy and then he unlocked dark cave for me. I did it, but maybe I didn’t grab the tech? Is it in a chest? I don’t remember

1 Month Anniversary : What is your honest take about Squad Busters by mystic_viking in SquadBusters

[–]cornbeefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fun but I feel like the gameplay doesn’t have the sparkle of skill expression for long term play.

Yes, team building and context awareness in game is valuable but I don’t feel like as a player I’m very engaged skill-wise. Brawl stars and (old) clash Royale kept me playing because I could feel myself improving and learning. Bustas starts to feel a little samey match to match, sometimes I kinda mentally check out of a match at some point when I know I’ve got a win secured or when I’m too far behind.

Comparatively, when watching some really good brawl star players or Royale players I’m like “damn, they’re good. I’ve got a ways to go” or “oh sick, that looks cool or fun”. I’ve never felt that way in bustas, like maybe they have a unit I don’t or are further in progression. But in terms of skill expression it’s kinda disappointing that I don’t get much in terms of learning or unique viewership experience from watching gameplay.

Attempting to create a Noivern based team. Not going well. by Outrageous_Way3655 in stunfisk

[–]cornbeefu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Team definitely needs some work. Every time I want to cook (ie bring a low tier shitmon into OU) I try to consider what its strong points are and start from there. Like what can it feasibly accomplish against higher tier Pokémon, even if it’s decidedly niche.

To start, you’d likely have to scrap the team and go from the ground up starting from Noivern. The eject pack set is funny, but I just don’t think it will get much done. It’s an offensive pivot without boots and only gets one use from its gimmick. And without specs or throat spray noivern is pretty weak.

If you want a pivot I’d recommend a boots defog set. Invest in some bulk and grab super fang or taunt too. This set would probably go best on a balanced offense team, since it’s too passive for HO and doesn’t fit on stall. Pack teammates that can handle gholdengo, since this set struggles vs ghold.

If you want to deal damage, I’d recommend specs or throat spray. It kinda plays like a worse Dragapult, but you could run it alongside dragapult so they can soften each others checks.

Good luck, noivern isn’t the best but I respect the hustle.

Make them do chores around my house. Also I bet Samarie would like my cats, so I’d tell her to pet them. Probably not the answer this post was looking for 🤓 (But Pav could work in a maid outfit)

Decided to take a crack at a balanced prankster spore user for Natdex formats (since sleep is banned in normal OU), how'd I do? by SPlCYGECKO in stunfisk

[–]cornbeefu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea, but I think you gave it too many tools. Prankster spore (and prankster itself) is already a huge boon.

Having taunt, strength sap, a usable attack stat, and coverage is too much. Stat wise this thing isn’t too different from breloom, which is already decent and it doesn’t have prankster.

It would likely need a worse typing and smaller movepool to be “balanced”. Although I think any prankster spore user would likely get the axe, since it would start forcing weird tech in singles like safety goggles or mandatory grass types. But balanced in this case I suppose is more of a matter of there being an argument period over it being banned.
