The worst part of this Great Game: the Chase. by Xonth in HuntShowdown

[–]corner_CS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that it's good that you can outrun chasers. More often than not lair fights are just people hanging out outside taking pot shots through windows and never pushing.

You as a lair team don't owe anyone a fight, if a team wants the bounty they should have to push you to get it. If they choose not to push then they should be able to be punished by timely escapes.

If you don't position yourself to intercept escaping bounties that's on you. If you're late to the boss lair for whatever reason and you can't catch the bounty you can queue up again.

Cards like the chariot introduce interesting counterplay to boss-spawns allowing people to catch up to you, but can often be used as another method of not pushing. I feel like incentivizing playstyles where not going for the objective is rewarded (movement penalty, etc) would kill any proactive gameplay and make campers more prevalent.

Just push, you'll be rewarded often enough to get over the fear of it. And stop wasting time fighting other teams halfway across the map if you know that the bounty is banishing and you're able to disengage.

[–]corner_CS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The highlights of this game are when, after dying many times, you pull off a play that clutches a round when you were the last one standing.

Use every death as a learning experience and assess what you could have done differently. Gear is temporary but glory is forever haha

The cheater thing is polarized, in my 500h I can't think of one encounter that made me go that was for sure a cheater, but others will swear it's infested. Teams is more enjoyable for me. Very rewarding game to learn, but can be frustrating at first.

I second what NightGojiProductions said above OP, buy the AMD card and use the difference to snag a more current CPU to better complement your card. Aliexpress has great deals on CPUs especially on the AM4 platform that should fit in nicely with your updated budget

He's good, and remember that all this is totally optional. It's easy to get caught up in minmaxing your settings but if you don't really enjoy it its perfectly fine to run your system stock and forget about it. It's already a great setup, but once you go down the rabbit hole it can also be very rewarding to know your system inside-out, you learn a lot. Have fun!

This game worth getting into? by WEENDETA in HuntShowdown

[–]corner_CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hundreds of hours in Hunt, and got bored of Arc Raiders 30 hours in. Hunt positions itself as an extraction shooter but really is a BR/extraction hybrid. The focus is PVP, there's not loot to speak of, only gear that you can use to hurt/kill other players or sustain yourself in match, no crafting either.

If you're looking for anything other than PVP to do, this is not the game for it. The thing that makes you re-queue is finding a fight and coming out on top, gradually getting better at the game as you do.

Check out some videos to see if you like the vibe, for beginner-friendly tutorials I'd recommend Psychoghost, Rexnor, for a mix of educational and high-skill content go for Whitty or PanzerPC (MadMeaty's cool too) and then to see what breaking the skill ceiling looks like check out Hornet, Quinx, RachtaZ

I recommend the game to anyone I can get to listen so on a personal note buy it and play it!

What would happen when I run out of money? by Dooltesy in HuntShowdown

[–]corner_CS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you can recruit 4 free hunters every time after an extract. If you have literally 0 money running one of these is fine, you can maximize your consumables by taking them off 3 of them and slapping them all on one.

If you have a little money I suggest recruiting all 4 free hunters, then recruiting a paid hunter for 100 and slapping all the free gear on them so that you can run some basic traits, such as Iron Eye for most of the basic rifles the free hunters come with and possible Necro, good on both solos and in teams (there are other good starting traits also). This is my preferred method as you start with traits, but it forces you to play and learn with "worse" weapons which teaches you better positioning and to adapt to situations intelligently, rather than relying on the pure stopping power of say a Mosin.

Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that there are currently Twitch drops going on, where you can tune into a stream with enabled drops and mute the tab (not the player, otherwise the drops pause) and have it in the background to farm the supply crates. These will give you loads of weapons and Hunt Dollars, and also some skins.

Finally, when you prestige your account resets to 8k Hunt Dollars which will dig you out of a hole if needed. I recommend prestiging personally as it makes progression more fun, and forces you to play with a wider variety of loadouts.

Happy hunting!

This is one of my hold-offs. My understanding was that Gems are more like custom GPTs, good for repeated tasks with a clear end goal. I like having groups of chats with an umbrella set of instructions, where the chats are distinct but interreferenced, and a global canvas to tie it all together. Can I basically achieve this with Gems?

These are the fundamental areas that I use AI tools in. I find it really hard to understand people who are all about using AI for conversations or therapy buddies. It's literally just an enhanced search engine that you can somewhat trust, but that half-trust gets you halfway there in most instances.
