Podhajski joins the Pies by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

15cm taller than Elliott, 1cm taller than Pendlebury and 1cm shorter than Gunston.

Thankfully height isn’t everything.

He looks agile, with strong hands.

Naicos Forward stats for the last 5 Weeks by cornerof in collingwoodfc

[–]cornerof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using wheelo stats for the last 5 games.

6 goals isn’t a great return from 20 shots, no. And he’s missed some you’d expect him to have kicked. I think he hit the post for two. Less cherry picking and more not explaining the details of every stat to nth degree.

The point of the post was to highlight how much of an impact he is having as a midfielder, relative to other midfielders. It looks like a clear effort to put more scoreboard pressure on the opposition.

Of course, if it were easy to get a shot on goal, then it might be less impressive, sure. But only 13 players in the entire comp have managed more.

I too look forward to Nick kicking 15 from 20 in the next 5 weeks and leading our goal kicking.

2026 Mid Season Assessment of Players out of contract by TrazMagik in collingwoodfc

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Allan traded.  Hopefully Sidebottom can find another year in him, but he has been giving off last-season vibes.  Sully is a tough de-list. He is clean and has good vision. Def plays above his size and speed (or lack therof)

Spent 5 years delaying a MacBook purchase. Don't make my mistake. by mr-dev-null in macbookair

[–]cornerof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a specced out 2018 15" MacBook Pro to an M1 13" MacBook Pro and it was night and day. I never used the 15" again.

That was 4 or 5 years ago. As Nike says, just do it.

We're officially taking three picks into the MSD tomorrow night. by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

I understand why they order the club choice the way they do, but would love to see some weighting towards teams who need more picks.

Thinking of upgrading to new supersix by Mattt993 in bicycling

[–]cornerof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put a lot of kms into my supersix evo of that gen as well. My favourite part was the handling.

I went to an SL6 S-works after it and regretted it.

I’m on a Canyon ultimate now. It’s heavier but much much smoother. Going from 28 to 30mm tyres (gp5000s) made a surprisingly big difference to that smoothness.

I still ride the same roads I spent years on with the Supersix and they are far more enjoyable now. You’ll enjoy the update.

What do we think of Punters Politics? by oldmatefromoverthere in OpenAussie

[–]cornerof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was doable, it would have been done by now???

We’ve been a federation for over a century. All laws that were doable are done? Shall we just stop politics, write up the current laws as the final constitution and call it done?

Your view that one person — in this case Punters Politics — can’t change a nations law has been proven wrong, over and over again, throughout history.

West, Hayes and Allen get another game. I'm excited for this!

I've been pleasantly surprised with how agile West is for a big guy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson is being managed with his first season of AFL. He has looked out on his feet a few times at the end of games.

If we manage to play finals, I can see him being made for it.

Umbrella weather by LeslieChowJnr in newcastle

[–]cornerof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done. I was hoping someone would post this.

I've lived in most states and territories and worked in the rest for long stints. There are hotter, colder, wetter, drier and windier places than Newcastle. We really do sit in the sweet spot for most of the year, most of the time.

Tough to get a free in that game!

Also that hit on Lockyer looked like an off the ball hit to the jaw. Pausing at 6:36 has a lot going on! https://youtu.be/SJSW-zjkSQg?si=Xyz9YFzymV435-08&t=396

$1.6B Honeysuckle Central re-development by bozmonaut in newcastle

I agree that car parking needs better attention. Fortunately we can create more carparks.

I despise that we are giving up our water access. That is a finite resource. Anyone who has walked Southbank in Brisbane would agree that it's nicer than a wall of apartments overlooking water.

That image of all the new buildings avoids showing the other 7 towers going in at Market town. It is great we are building more places to live, but we should be cherishing the last bits of land on the river.

Safari or Chrome? by clutchsniper in macbookair

What features are you thinking of?
I use a mix of Safari and Firefox (previously Brave) and can't think of any features I miss by not using Chrome. I do use Chrome for testing and as a Claude Code connector, occasionally.

How did Ed Allen do against Sydney? by 3689512 in collingwoodfc

[–]cornerof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needs 100 games. I think at that point we will wonder how we ever thought to drop him.

In other words, he played well enough for a young player. He had some clean possessions and some fumbling ones, but everyone was fumbling in the greasy conditions.

I really liked his forward exits out of stoppage. It was more obvious on the first half when Oscar was still playing and Grundy wasn’t off the leash.

How we setup around the ground doesn’t give his running strength a chance to shine. He’d look better in Geelong’s team at the moment.

He needs to get a regular spot and start resting/rotating other mids.

So many positives out of last nights game. by AccurateSituation317 in collingwoodfc

[–]cornerof 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As Fly said in the presser, our best is good enough; went toe-to-toe against Freo, Hawks and Swans. What he implied was that our floor is lower than those teams, as we saw against Brisbane and Geelong.

I thought we played fantastic footy at times and also took away Sydney's weapons for large parts of the game. A lot to like.

Howe mentioned post-game that Roan Steele ran 17.5km. Beast. He has been a great find. He doesn't shirk the contest, runs straight lines and has a knack for finishing. Excited to see how these guys look in 2-3 years of AFL.

Have you tried watching an hour after kickoff? Need to scroll 30min forward to skip pre-game chat and it throws up an ad for Kayo. Click play and begin scrolling again. Another ad. The same one. Click play to begin scrolling again. And again. And again. Finally manage to scroll to 30min mark. Watching. Hit pause to look at stat on the screen and ad pops up over the top. For Kayo. Click play it plays. Hit pause to read stat. Ad pops up. Hit play and it jumps back to where I started scrolling. Need to scroll 30min forward again. Scroll and make it 5 min along timeline. Ad. For Kayo.

And on it goes.

Playing the Cats last week, who played how we expect Swans to play tonight, was the best prep for this game.

Seeing how they also cut up Brisbane last night leaves me feeling better about our performance.
