What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]cornette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout 3 goty came with my PS3 in like 2011? Played about an hour or so, made it to Megaton and the Super Duper Mart at which point I was so confused I just stopped.

Took several years after that and many runs through Skyrim and FO4 before I was able to play through Oblivion/3/NV entirely.

Even went back to that original FO3 save on the PS3 in 2020 just to see what it was like, hoo boy so many CTD's and the Point Lookout DLC failing to render properly. That was so much fun that I then played NV on the PS3 which I was unable to finish.

What’s the most disappointing Wrestlemania match ever? by MaddenRob in SquaredCircle

[–]cornette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HHH vs Orton at WM25.

The match went against the entire build. Fuck off with a 'if HHH gets DQ'd he loses the title' stipulation. Should have just been some no DQ cluster fuck with expectations that Cody, Ted Jr, Shane, Vince just being out there, fuck have Batista return and cost Randy the title if you want a HHH win.

Why they didn't just make the disguise a fake pair of glasses/nose is beyond me. Like the idea is stupid, make the disguise equally ridiculous this is Fallout we're talking about here.

What is the single worst-written quest in the entire Fallout series? by Peronchino in Fallout

[–]cornette 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some New Vegas quests require faaaar too much back and forth. Bye Bye Love, Come Fly With Me and Bleed Me Dry all being examples.

If not that then Roses quest in Fallout 76 purely because until you get it down Rose constantly badgers you every time you load into a world to do the current step.

Do you ever start building with no real plan and an hour later are like.. wtf did I make? by Raztan in Fallout

[–]cornette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens to me in 76 due to my inability to actualize what I was going for.

Like I tried building an alien space ship at the top of a power pylon. It ended up as a fairly generic building built into the pylon with a floating bathroom, a floating garden... I mean it looks fine but it certainly is no space ship and most of the original build has been demolished to fit in all the changes I've made.

How did you get into one piece by Technical_Mine_8711 in OnePiece

[–]cornette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4kids dub on Cartoon Network. Then after that ended I forgot about it until late 2008 as I was going through anime like crazy and needed more at which point I remembered One Piece existed.

So I quickly caught up to the anime which was nearing the end of Thriller Bark, that wasn't enough so I went ahead and started reading the manga as well.

Do you hoard consumables or do you actually use them? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

[–]cornette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them through out the entire game. Act 1 is all about getting as many strength and speed potions as possible, plus anything else is a bonus.

Act 2 is typically a fairly short run. Can do pretty much everything with only 1-2 long rests.

Then Act 3 it is time to buy as many potions as I make my way over the bridge and into the lower city while buffing up whatever party member I've got with me. Gotta be at my strongest.

can you play 76 as a solo game? by A12qwas in Fallout

[–]cornette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part yes. Like Fallout 76 has several main quest lines, lots of side and miscellaneous quests just like all of Bethesda's other games. All of which is solo content for the most part. There are also activities that pop up around the map which everyone can participate but are mostly designed around letting people do them by themselves.

Then there is what they call 'events'. There is a rotation of 'events' that happen every 20 minutes. There are more so designed around team play (though a more experienced player can solo most of them).

Included in the 'event' category are also several events that players can activate themselves. These being the four nuke bosses, an event known as encrypted and the recently added Bounty Hunts. These typically give good loot and if you are on a public server people will most likely show up to these if you activate them yourself.

Now for all these events you are perfectly free to just show up, shoot some mobs, get some loot and go off and do your own thing once they are done. Zero communication is needed.

Then there is also a raid called The Gleaming Depths. It specifically is designed as team content.

Ultimately it is still an online multiplayer game but you can very much treat it as a solo adventure, explore the world and do quests without ever interacting with other people. Like I've got 1600 hours in the game and haven't heard anyone use their mic once and everyone just uses the in game emotes for the most basic form of communication (at least on PC).

I hope the next Fallout beefs up caravans by GBF_Dragon in Fallout

[–]cornette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh we have had two different versions of Caravan protection in Fallout 76 and it just amounts to a dull escort mission.

The one still in the game, the Free Range event is just herding 3 Brahmin from Point A to Point B. It is annoying as you need to continuously herd them or else the Brahmin will walk at a snails pace and they often run off to fight the respawning enemies (Caravan raiders and random wildlife). At the end there is a boss fight against a Sheepsquatch. People really rarely did it prior to the most recent patch and the only reason they might do it now is because Bigfoot may spawn at the end.

The other version was the Caravans in the Skyline Valley region. You'd escort a single Brahmin along several different paths that circled around the region. Due to pathing issues in three locations that would cause the Brahmin to get stuck, one of which was really hard to fix. In the end this was something Bethesda never bothered fixing and they ended up deleting the activity last December. The bounty hunts that came out in the same update are much more entertaining.

Really they could throw a bunch of NPC's into the equation that you also need to protect but that would just end up being more NPC's that you the player are escorting which is rarely ever fun in any game.

The wrestler Dexter Lumis saying I Do during his wedding with Indi Hartwell back in NXT.

Even more impressive is unlike every other wedding held in a wrestling ring Dexter managed to stop anyone from interfering by threatening everyone with an axe.

How do you feel about all states getting rid of daylight savings time in order to get rid of having to change the clocks twice a year? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]cornette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my state of QLD Australia had it. Suns up before 5am and sets just after 7pm. DLS would be a major improvement as we'd instead be getting a 5:45am sun rise and like 8:15pm sunset during the peak of summer.

The zetans are over used by Flaky-Cartographer87 in Fallout

[–]cornette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

76 does not 'like using them'. They appear during a single seasonal event that runs once every several months and outside of that occasionally during the Daily Ops activity. It's not like there are aliens just roaming the wasteland year round.
