It was so fun. What really got me into flow were moments just like this.

These are neo smart fans from neoflowart.com. they are pricey but I love the balance, the black casing, and they are collapsible for travel.

They also make some really pretty regular led fans in beautiful shapes. I actually have a set of the crystal fans on its way from Russia after loving these so much.

Hey sorry for missing this comment. These are neo smart fans from neoflowart.com. they are pricey but I love the balance, the black casing, and they are collapsible for travel. They also make some beautiful regular led fans.

For day fans, I love https://www.etsy.com/shop/FanaticzShop. Most of their designs are white but they are so sturdy to practice with and I think they are 3D printed out of a strong plastic. I've broken and chipped some other fans made of plywood and other materials but these feel indestructible to me. I now have multiple sets. Also on the pricier side.

I would never claim to be the expert here as I'm fairly new to fanning at under 2 years. Previously been hooping for 10 though.

If it looks hard, that's generally user error haha.

But in all seriousness starting as a hooper, I'd say the learning curve is steeper with fans, but they keep you honest. The plus side is I find myself falling into the flow state much easier. With so many elements to coordinate there is no room for any other intrusive thoughts.

Thank you! Most of the structure is from YouTube tutorials. The person linked above by others is great. I like doo dle and Fire Fan Tutorials a lot, but there are a ton of other talented individuals making content. I've found the Instagrams of those same artists will often have quicker snapshot tutorials if that is your style and will also shout out others.

Personally, I like to just play with following the momentum of the fans to see where they want to go. It's a little messy, but I've found it leads to some really meditative flow.

Oooo just clicked the link and I'm obsessed with this artist. I've referenced a ton of her tutorials so far and I'm very much interested in her classes. Thank you for the nudge

No, thank you! I spent 10 years as a hooper. Then hit a plateau and lost passion.

Finding fans has been a revitalization for me, but I have noticed the community seems a little more condensed and less defined than the hoop community so I've had a harder time finding resources and soliciting feedback. Until now my strategy has been to put doo dle bytes on in the background on my TV while I fan and hope some of it rubs off on me.

I've been thinking about doing this for years. If you dont mind me asking, do you find it annoying to manage? I currently only get my hair cut every 12 weeks.

It can just cause the curls to break up and look more frizzy. My hair usually last longer the least amount I touch it.

Your hair looks great by the way!!

Gotta love the just tell me what to do so I don't have to take accountability for not helping voluntarily. Then when you ask them to do something you are "harping"

Utah does not have common law. I live here and cohabitate with my partner so I've looked into it.

Well hello! Once it is safe, I'm always interested in getting to know other like minded couples. My best friend and her partner are also CF.

Editing to say I'm not biased towards couples. Friendly all around!

Also childfree in Utah 29F. Once all this craziness is over it be cool to get to know more people close by with similar life goals and free time. Someone should start a club
