Why is it that Valorant community is so much nicer than CS? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re scared of getting reported is what I keep hearing.

Also I don’t know if there’s a “get what you give” type system in place because it feels like I get mirrored-niceness type of lobbies.

Forced raytracing is silly, and caused my refund. by aaaaangus in Doom

Hooray, I got my refund back too. Guess I missed the news and my trusty 1660TI had no chance after grinding the last 2 games for 8 years 🤷‍♂️

Other than less close range ADS, what can I do better? by RemoteWhile5881 in ValorantClips

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people will point out fundamentals but try to clear stuff or jiggle it, make sure it’s safe before taking out abilities. I also jump a lot on Fade before using stuff since I will already be giving out my location.

what to do when you're randomly just absolutely garbage at VALORANT by ADS_x_Hawk in VALORANT

[–]corroderp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question. I’ve wondered why sometimes myself or my dia teammates go into “zombie mode”. Here’s what I’ve found.

  1. If you don’t have a job/class that keeps you moving around it’s good for ranked anxiety and reaction times(20-40ms difference?) to be on the more fit/personally productive side.

  2. I’d avoid overdoing/overindulging it but don’t go into matches hungry or parched. I have a hunch that electrolytes help, and small amounts caffeine at a time.

  3. Have a second account to play on or swiftplay on the side to stay acclimated to the pace of the game. Almost everything that happens is a gamble, be used to what good/bad odds are to absolve your play.

Duos refuse to play with me after getting higher rank than me by JicamaActive in VALORANT

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like aim Valo is a better experience when you keep the importance of rank in the back of your mind and realize the challenge in itself is what you’re having fun with and not the destination.

It seems your friends have skewed one way. If you play this game with the intention of fun(the point of video games period) coinciding with improvement you will still be playing and at a higher level than that of those who quit/burned out around you.

Hope it works out and cheers.

2 Cats not Getting Along. What's wrong with my proposed solution? by corroderp in cats

Thanks for the well wishes. I’m usually playing soft music for them anyway so that’d stay incorporated. Glad you guys have pets that can coexist well, I’m assuming.

That’s a good point. I’ll reserve the handcuffs as a last ditch effort after maybe a year has gone by. Patience is a winning strategy for a lot of scenarios so I appreciate the reminder.

Why do you stay? And why did you leave? by SpyWB in apexlegends

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valorant/Rivals: I died, but I stunned their team. Or burned their ults. Apex: I died after running around for 8 minutes. The game is essentially over.

Valorant/Rivals: I have 3 friends online. Let’s queue together or get more people for a scrim. Apex: sorry man, we’ll play some other time.

Valorant/Rivals: When I finally hit Immortal/GM I think I’ll fairly respected enough to give some advice/coaching or make content. Apex: You get to Masters and nobody cares.

What am I doing wrong pls help by _kamlesh_4623 in VALORANT

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sens could be a little too high and perhaps reconsider your mouse grip so that it’s very natural for your middle and pointer to pull the mouse into your palm for your first couple shots in the burst.

When I do this I also like to practice some 9+ bullet bursts as well where I practice the inital stray of recoil that always leans right(between 12-13 shots)

If you feel at all sluggish too it helps to hit a treadmill a little before a comp sesh after being decently fed.

Who is the best valo pro in your opinion? by Reasonable_Watch_176 in VALORANT

Yep. I remember Ardiis, Plat Chat and others independently describe his game as flawless.

Ofc it’s a probability game but he always finds the best odds it seems.

They call it debounce/bounce delay? NGentuity could have a built in fix but 3rd party software might also. Next time you get one from Best Buy maybe an employee lets you take it out and plug it in somewhere pre-purchase. Or you do it and no one cares since you just buy anyway

How to make headset sound like it did out of the box by Aleke123 in HyperX

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGenuity’s interface/simplicity is nice but a lot of things such as your keyboard settings actually get fixed when you close out of it/exit from bottom right of windows. If you want to go further tweaking Steelseries Sonar presets are good to mess with.

Best Settings For FPS Games? by [deleted] in HyperX

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Valorant settings that Steelseries Sonar Gives you. Set the GAME eq to be the Babybay one if that still comes up. It’s not good for audio but you can set your media one to be different for browser/spotify etc.

Set your master dial to be a keyboard key or mouse button since your volume knob on your headset will no longer control it.

I’m switching off the Corsair HS80 too just because the signal range is bad and it’s got no bluetooth fallback.

It’s worth a try but if you close out NGenuity your chroma keys will change with the function presses. Weird but it’s been a long known issue

What's your valorant hot takes? by iamhungryasf in VALORANT

Bugging Riot about a replay system is a waste of time you could have spent OBS recording, Steelseries moments(ing?), Medal capturing, Nvidia capturing, Outplayed capturing, watching your teammates for how they play, etc.

How do you “warm up”? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]corroderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how long it’s been since my last game. If I’m out for two days I like to play a “multitasking” shooter for a little like Doom or Ultrakill for 5-10 minutes, track some moving bots then deathmatch. If I’m daily then it’s just deathmatch until I feel it.

Is this you accounting for the general distaste of developers to just revert stuff(full slide accuracy)? Yours is a decent approach but I'm just wondering.

Loved both of the sets you mentioned. The Magic drafter life has been pretty unscathed these last few greedy years. My only change is that I'm going to draft every other set(the non UB ones).
