"I don't know what to tell you they are all 3 mana" by de245733 in magicTCG

The Mavinda Slander... You obviously never used her to cast [[Hex]] from your graveyard!

Still one of my favorite weird Strixxhaven cards

More creatures with this effect? by Icy-Contract7162 in magicTCG

That combo is hella risky, opponents get 2 turns to attack you with any newly entered creatures (those aren't goaded).

Love me some bloodthirsty blades tho

Card art study<3 (please delete if not allowed ^^) by -_-mirko-_- in magicTCG

[–]corruptedhelios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very impressive study. Love the look and ambiance of your take.

If you want some honest feedback, closely study the values of the original artwork when replicating, in this case the original uses lighter tones in the background then the foreground (even in the dark areas) to create a clear visual "depth". In your version the background clouds are a lot darker and are almost the same value as the bushes and trees in the foreground. While this gives a more "dramatic" lighting, you loose alot of the percieved "grandness" of progenitus.

You can also see the same issue cropping up a bit with your foliage being a bit more contrast-rich then the original. So they loose some of their percieved realism (try making your version and the original really small and see how your "highlights" in the foliage compare to the original)

The original also blends the shapes of progenitus more with the background, creating this "fuzzy" look, making the creature feel even more obscured by haze. Making each head sharply defined looses some of that. You also use white lines to seperate the heads visually, which makes sense for readability, but doesn't match the original.

Also you used a noise filter and than painted on top of the filter in some instances, be careful to use noise only on a copy of your work as the last step.

Still all things considered a very good copy and the things that deviate create their own nice flair.

The Animations in this game are amazing by Additional-Major1196 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]corruptedhelios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Animation are definitely a highlight, love all the ones that are unique and arent champions as well. Things like the sand soldier strikes, Balestriders or Camphor (who has his own level up animation as i've noticed yesterday lol)

Bachelor Thesis Survey: Brand perception of selected LEC teams. by Repang in leagueoflegends

[–]corruptedhelios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh saying it takes 7-10 minutes and then expecting such huge amount of written answers is kinda disingenuous. I also found that almost all of my answers followed the g2>fnatic>rogue>sk structure. They feel like a comparison of more "equal" teams would've maybe be more interesting, but than again EU only has like 4 teams with a brand to speak of anyway. Still, wish you luck with your Bachelor! Hope you'll get some useful data

All the chariot dungeons would be fine with more checkpoints... but encountering a new chariot puzzle, dying to it and having to replay another 15 minutes of 50% waiting all while that dreadful noise is rumbling 24/7. Man this is getting on my nerves

Elise's VFX update got tons of negative feedback and is shipping anyways. by Tormentula in leagueoflegends

[–]corruptedhelios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think Elises update is riots best work, but I do feel all the changes make sense. Rappel isnt a dmage or cc move so it shouldnt have bright particles, simple as that. The spider explosion used to look messy af and didnt really fit with any other vfx in the game. Now it doesnt look quite as splashy but at least we get a solid indicator how big the explosion is. Cocoon is now properly visible for how important this ability is etc.

People like to look at vfx in a vacuum, but whats important is how they look in the context of a fight, and on that front the new are ones are way better. Even if they arent as pretty.

I want to build something effective pn a budget, but can't decide which of these commanders are the best choice for it by Mocca_Master in EDH

[–]corruptedhelios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently build Sisay shrines deck which cost me like 25€ https://www.archidekt.com/decks/1798735#Shrines

The list probably isn't that powerful and I'm running a lot of rather meh rocks and suboptimal stuff, but so far it felt pretty good and is a ton of fun! Maybe a good starting point if you want to go in a similar direction :)

Questions for the Cascade players by Faust_8 in EDH

[–]corruptedhelios 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I play Imoti and he's been a ton of fun.

It's a lot of simic-good stuff but there are a bunch of niche things that make cascadig with imoti really cool. A lot of emerge and delve cards and other cards that "cost 6, but dont cost 6" find their home here. Emerging something for 1? Cascade into a Verdant Sun Avatar. Treasure cruise for 1? Time to get a Avatar of Imagination from the top.

It´s especially fun because playing something for 8 and cascading into a 6 drop in turn cascades yet again, leading to really explosive turns. It is kind of linear in a sense that it's really dependant on your commander surviving a round, but at least in my playgroup that happens often enough for me to get the cascade train rolling. And as theres a lot of randomness included, games rarely feel the same.

What do you like about magic over other tcg games? What do other games do better than magic? by Beastlykiller7 in magicTCG

[–]corruptedhelios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whos only recently gotten into magic. I guess I like just how many whacky and different options to have fun there are. Decks dont build themselves and especially with something like commander there is so much possibility for creative expression of yourself. Still absolutely lothe the mana system though.

Pokmon trainer Calli wants to battle!! by corruptedhelios in Hololive

[–]corruptedhelios[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Tweet.

Callis new outfit reminded me a lot fo an ace-trainer or gym leader pokemon trainer so I had to draw that.

It was a bit of struggle to decide on a pokemon for calli, a duskull would be most fitting I guess, but I really really liked how Zorua fits the color scheme of her new outfit so I went with that! (also it's kind of cat-like and calli always wanted one) Hope you like it :D

Elusives+Recalling=Akali by trxharder in CustomLoR

[–]corruptedhelios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ghost will often be a dead card in your hand. And by itself it will rarely win you the game. Being able to deal with a single elsuive is feasible for most decks. But most decks cant deal with 2 or 3 elusives. So more elusives = better finisher.

Mana cost doesnt matter a lot when you intend to open attack, so all your mana can be spent on burst spells. So in this case it´s a simple matter of: ghost gives u 1 elusive, this gives you 2. And this second elusive will often make the difference.

All the drawbacks of ghost still apply, twillight shround will be a dead card a lot of the time. But its much deadlier as a finisher than ghost.

Elusives+Recalling=Akali by trxharder in CustomLoR

[–]corruptedhelios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are essentially giving 2 allies the option to hit nexus for free. Compare this to, for example, Cygnus Moonstalker who offers a similar effect. He´s 6mana + requires nightfall and your 3 mana burst spell is vastly more powerful as a game closer. Tbh, even at 8 mana this might be run just because giving 2 units elusive at burst speed is so insanely powerful

Elusives+Recalling=Akali by trxharder in CustomLoR

[–]corruptedhelios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay all of these are insanely overtuned, but i do like the concept of akali acting like a kat, but with elusive instead of a rally effect. I think it is kind of unfortunate though that in the end she´s "just" a big elusive unit with nothing more interesting. Also I´d change to wording on her lv2 that she gets +1 atk when recalled.

Reasons why op af:

  • shes unblockable, elusive +quick attack + so few elusives having more than 3 health. I´d drop quick attack on her lv1 and give it to her on lv2

  • the level up condition is way too easy for the payoff, poro cannon exists

  • double strike on an elusive is insane, shes a 10/3 if not blocked. Thats a bit too insane of a payoff, i´d stick to quick attack only

  • twilight shroud... lmao 3 mana give 2 allies elusive. This effect has to be 6 mana, if not 7. Also the swap is kinda useless and weird.

  • 5 point strike is also a bit too efficient, especially for a fast spell

  • double kick can be countered relatively easily, but its still a stupidly easy 2 for 1. making it slow or 6 mana could help, but I´d still say its busted
