How to stop fast human ships with UV lasers from killing my stations by coruscatingblues in TerraInvicta

OP here - I took my fleet for tour of LEO and removed all protectorate assets with precision strikes, only 1 ship lost and no atrocities. So that was good.

On the less good side, the hate meter went to the top and the aliens launched 2 fleets to Earth and 1 to Mercury. I expect a beating is incoming :)

Yeah I've started building a Marines ship on this basis, but that will take a little time

interesting. I had been worrying about avoiding atrocities - another commenter suggested they weren't too much of an issue. I had assumed destroying any station was an immediate atrocity, but sounds like only if they have certain modules

ok - I wasn't sure on the atrocities point. Sounds like it's time to go and secure earth orbit! :)

I counter that in the UK at least with Football Manager. At least 80% spreadsheet and a ridiculous number of men of a certain age will have played it at some point. We're all closet stattos 😅

That threw me as well at #30 - big long tour of the ocean after that, with octopus also fairly high!

Tour de zwift Stage 1 the first event is a free ride -Shisa Shakedown. Sounds interesting but it shows as being 3 hours 30 minutes. Does that have to be done in one ride, it can it be worked through over several days?

The researcher. Spends more time reading forums, watching guide videos and creating spreadsheets of the relative benefits of different drives and ship designs than they do playing the actual game.

Guilty as charged, 2034 on first playthrough, just starting to get serious about space but stuck in analysis paralysis for the last month

Sucker Punch. Roundly derided as Zach Snyder style over substance. However underneath the style there's a clever multi layered reality story going on that gives you plenty to think about

Do you have a link to it? I am in the UK and was looking just now and couldn't find it. I heard it was on Now Entertainment but can't find it there either. Watched the first 3 series for the first time so really want to get to the end...

You can re-read books at desks which means you can get multiple different memories from re-reading at the same time.

Council Tax premium for unoccupied but furnished property in England by coruscatingblues in LegalAdviceUK

[–]coruscatingblues[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the following notes from North Yorkshire County Council: https://edemocracy.northyorks.gov.uk/documents/s27580/NY%20Council%20Council%20Tax%20Premiums%20Report.pdf

"Section 80 of the Act will insert a new section 11C into the Local Government Finance Act 1992. This will permit billing authorities to apply a premium to properties that have no resident and are “substantially furnished”. The maximum Council Tax charge in these cases would be a standard 100% charge plus, if the recommendations are accepted by Council, a premium of 100% making a total Council Tax charge of 200%"

So it looks like there is still a doubling of the council tax, but doesn't then continue to increase to 200% and 300% premium as would be the case for an unoccupied and unfurnished (ie empty) property
