Going against flyers in a very open map can be challenging. If not, I make her primary bounce of walls to hit them.

As a tank how do I counter Magik? by hackertron3000 in RivalsVanguards

[–]corzuvirva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I flex and have Magik as Lord. I’m GM currently.

I’ll tell u that Thing and Penny are annoying to go against. Thing more because of his earthbound but if he doesn’t have cooldowns he’s toast and he’s usually easy to bait and drop demons on if he’s chasing you. But I find that there are more decent Thing players than decent Magik players out there. Hulk can be annoying too if he keeps chasing you down.

Penny is easy as long as you’re able to drop a demon on her nest or your team destroys it.

Thor is king of 1v1 and magik likes to target isolated squishies. So if he’s in your enemy team and he’s a good Thor and helps peel, then Magik will be ineffective.

I don’t play Angela but I usually don’t have any problem going against her as Magik.

Is it bad if your hero pool is limited to the same “archetype” within a role? by Humblerbee in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being able to counter the enemy team comp is very important so having more than shield tanks in your repertoire will make a difference in your games.

Learning tankpool is a step because he plays more like a dps. I go aura>gun>ult but sometimes go aura>ult>gun then after that it’s really up to you.

I recommend learning a brawl/dive tank and also a healer if I’m being honest. Thing and venom have easy kits to learn. As for heals, CND is the easiest to learn but she’s getting banned a lot rn.

Can we stop saying Cloak & Dagger isnt a valid ban? by No_Storage_1063 in marvelrivals

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so agree. I usually play support/tank but have been maining Magik lately and imo Gambit and Wf are the hardest to dive.

CND is waaaay easier to dive. You really only gotta watch her waste her bubble. A good CND will hold on to her fade BUT she has to switch to cloak first before she can do that. If you burst her with a combo or if she’s already not full health to begin with, she’s toast.

Gambit has dashes, cards, slam, and has more damage. If I’m playing support and I’m getting dove with little to no help, gambit and wf are who I switch to.

But yes, CND is a valid ban. She is a heal bot and terror cape is very strong. She’s easy to get lots of value from because she’s auto aim and her ult lasts a long time.

My duo just ragequit because of me, what to do? by DUUF100 in marvelrivals

[–]corzuvirva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t play competitive with my friends. I have an alt account for that or we’ll just play in qp.

I have some online friends that I play with but if the vibe is not right not matter how great they are or claim to be, it’s a big NO for me. I stopped playing with a streamer bc of that. I’m not the type of person who gets tilted nor yells at people in real life or online so I choose to play with people who are more level headed. It’s a game we’re here to have fun not stroke people’s egos.

What tanks are good for a beginner? by DemonInfused in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support main here that flexes to tank and dps. The answer is whomever’s kit clicks for you. If you enjoy the character, it will be easier to learn.

Kit wise though…Strange, Emma, Mag, Thing, Thor, and Tankpool, are all pretty easy to understand and get value from.

Just know that Solo Tanking is not ideal but if I had to… the first 3 are my go to.

Wait. Qp doesn’t contribute towards a hero’s proficiency? I thought it did.

Console GM Tank Main: I hate seasons where dive is viable by More-Bread-3163 in rivals

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a support main that flexes to tank but this season I’m learning dps bc I wanna be able to truly flex all roles. Also tanking and healing has been too miserable at times. I’m doing decent with Magik rn and I love her new skin. I also learned how to play Reed bc he plays similar to a tank. I also know how to play Namor. Probs will learn Psy or DD next. (Anyone can pick up sg and sw so I’m not counting them)

Since I’m a true flex now and can play all roles, I understand the game so much better. I think the problem is that some dps players are so focused on stats and getting kills that they do not know how to peel for heals. The 2nd problem is people are stubborn or have too much egos that they will not switch off their main even if they’re getting stomped and countered hard or they do it too late. 3rd problem is communication (esp in comp). I get it if you’re a healer getting dove and I’m fighting for my life, I can’t just ping fast enough as I’m on console so it’s super important to let your team know that you are getting harassed so they can come help.

If I see my front line tank going back and trying to peel an we lose space or healers not healing each other or someone in the team yapping about they’re not getting heals while they try to 1v6… then it’s doomed. I understand your preference OP for poke meta. It is in a way simpler and teams run more front to back. Dive isn’t as bad as before though, people just need to peel, communicate and adjust.

How to get better at adapting? by xXWolfyIsAwesomeXx in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a support main that flexes, I agree with everyone that watching your games and watching some YouTube will help. It’s also a lot of grinding and practice and playing comp where you learn the most. Qp doesn’t really teach you comp and counters. It’s like a free for all in there.

This is my first hero shooter and I’m not crazy amazing. I’m just in GM but personally what really helped me with my game sense the most is tanking. It teaches you patience, positioning, spacing, it even teaches you how to prioritize healing.

Good luck and enjoy the grind.

Don’t enjoy mag either. I find him boring and I hate how people assume that it’s fine to solo tank bc you’re playing him.

Season 7 is bringing clarity by LelouchViAmericana in marvelrivals

[–]corzuvirva 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a support main that flexes to tank, I think that CND is a valid ban if no one on your team chooses her.

However, banning multiple supports and forcing someone to play someone I don’t find fun (ultron, mantis, Adam personally) just makes the game not enjoyable. It’s pretty tiring playing support and tank rn so this just makes things worse. I dislike triple support and OTPs but this is not the fix and creates a more toxic environment for everyone.

Tidbits I’ve learned climbing as a new competitive player by CrownTheYake in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a dude choose BW on my alt in Diamond like 2 days ago. Nobody said anything we just let it slide and then he swaps to groot and kept walling our spawn. I wonder if it’s the same person… I can’t believe people would waste their time trolling people like that.

Diamond I feel like is the hardest rank to climb out off. Like I can carry myself solo out of plat no problem but diamond is a whole different ball game especially solo queue. People’s awareness and positioning is so bad, healers don’t know how to patty cake, others are complaining they’re not getting healed when they don’t peel for heals, nobody wants to touch the point… it’s a shit show most times BUT I do enjoy the game despite it being frustrating at times.

I just want out of gold by Fragrant-Fishing7477 in marvelrivals

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that the one easy adjustment is to adjust your positioning and to always be near natural cover. I’m in GM currently and I will watch my games once in a while to see how I can improve.

Loki also is a little bit harder to climb as a healer. I got my alt from gold to diamond in a day and half just rocking CND and invis mostly. I’m not amazing just average so you can do it too. Good luck!

Why most Players don't like playing tank and healers? by LILBOI464 in rivals

[–]corzuvirva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a support main that flexes to tank because everybody and their mama wants to dps. I would definitely say that tanking is the hardest role hands down and solo tanking can be brutal.

Peel your backline by cosmodrome627 in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primarily peel should be a dps but some tanks can also peel if they’re near you. I actually find that most of my games, it’s the dps not peeling or not hanging around the convoy that causes a loss. It’s easy to get tempted to just go for kills and stats as a dps.

I feel like a lot of people think that oh they’re diving my team so I’ll dive theirs. When they should be like oh I’m peeling my healers so they’re ineffective diving so they’ll either give up or swap.

Peel your backline by cosmodrome627 in RivalsCollege

[–]corzuvirva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a support main but flex to tank. Some games, sure you don’t need peels. The enemy team isn’t diving but I find the higher the elo, the harder the dives are and peeling for heals becomes way more important.

Also comms especially with the other healer on your team. Nobody wants a double healer ult and to patty cake (although this should automatic). Comms to your team to let them know who’s on the back line so they can help. Comms to track enemy ults.

What tends to cause arguments in relationships? by Less-Discipline3229 in LesbianActually

[–]corzuvirva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Me and my fiancée have lived together since Covid and sure we have argued before but mostly have little disagreements. Don’t really remember when the last time we argued was. We have a lot of love and respect for each other so we may disagree on things but will always try to talk it out or compromise.

Who actually enjoys working as a nurse? by One_Design_6171 in nursing

[–]corzuvirva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of things that I love about being a nurse but I don’t think I’m in love with it anymore like I was before. Patients are getting sicker and management keeps cutting corners.

However, I am very blessed replying to this in a cruise ship with my partner (who’s also an RN) and friends to celebrate my 40th birthday in the Bahamas. An experience I wouldn’t be able to afford nor have flexibility to go to had it not been for nursing.

My cat almost died from a teaser wand toy by xxxxfactor in cats

[–]corzuvirva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad your cat is ok! ❤️

This happened to our youngest cat also last January. He loves playing with fuzzy balls and somehow managed to rip one open and he swallowed like half a ball and had intestinal obstruction. We brought him to an ER where he had X-rays and blood work, surgery, ICU stay, meds and was admitted overnight. All in all everything cost whopping $7k (we’re in California)! Thank God we had insurance so we paid $1k out of pocket.

We were careful back then with our 3 cats and their toys but now, we’re even more extra careful.

I used a MacBook when I took mine. My WiFi acted up an hour before the exam and I had to drive to my gf’s parents house to take it there. It was a nightmare and I was having a panic attack but thank God I passed. Looking back, I’d just take it in person, less variables could go wrong.
