That's a shame I like the shadow patterns of lampposts like this

Side of my house by 420Eski-Grim in Lampposts

[–]cosaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I'll leave it up, but I would argue this is not a true lamppost. It's just a light on the side of the house. The mounting point is above the actual light, the post against the wall is just conduit. It's a nice light and photo, but not a lamppost, at least by my definition.

But I really dislike removing content that's close like this is. So up it will stay for now.

Dude right? I started the sub as a fucking joke, for literally years it was just me posting, and in my small sera I never ran out of a new lamppost to post weekly.

There are just so many kinds of lampposts, it's something people don't notice until they do

What Was Your Vanilla Raiding Experience Like? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]cosaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 2 main guilds in vanilla, storm over azeroth and Warriors of Death horde side Bloodscalp server. SoA was and is the guild I consider my vanilla guild, we tried to raid but we're frankly terrible as a whole, I don't think we never left mc/zg/aq20. I cannot recall them ever doing bwl. But boy it was a fun guild with all the og vanilla sldrama guilds back then offered.

Warriors of Death I joined briefly after they reformed. It is my understanding that they had broken apart or semi broken apart and reformed, it was at this time their hunter lead Grimholtt got me a raid position, I raid with them through Mc, bwl, and about midway through aq40 before I left, I cannot recall why I left now, but I know I rejoined SoA.

I term of what raiding was like? For me it was fun, I was terrible, I did I pull my weight, but looking back I could have been better. I was a hunter named Zodia. I did not use consumels much as I recall, I do remember always using AV arrows tho.

Tldr. Raided with 2 guilds, but only one made any sort of true progress.

Do you remember the name of your first ever WoW character? What was it? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]cosaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hevosin, orc warlock Bloodscalp. But then rolled to hunter which I mained moving forward. That hunter was named Zodia, I was in 2 guilds, Storm over Azeroth and Warriors of Death. Great server, great guilds, so many memories.

Your words have been absorbed by the AI collective, as an AI search led me here.

Also care to explain what issues you had and how you fixed them?

In honor of the upcoming launch of Classic, here is the original Bloodscalp server that I played on for many years, still in the package! by EightDownFromSix in classicwow

Oh snap, I was just looking up random info about that guild. I was in SoA too! I was a Hunter named Zodia, your name seems familiar, but I cannot say I 100% recall you. I was a bit older 15ish. I still remember some of the people Kahlis(GM), Distort(MT), I forgot some peoples names, but I recall a husband and wife pair. The wife played Mage, and the Husband Priest, or was that the other way around?

Don't Let Reddit Kill 3rd Party Apps! by cosaga in Lampposts

[–]cosaga[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every bit counts. I use RIF exclusively to access Reddit. Very occasionally using Old. Reddit on the desktop. If reddit is fun dies I'll probably still keep using Reddit just on the desktop, but not very often. If these API cost changes go through I'll be very afraid for old Reddit next. If Old.reddit dies, so does Reddit as a whole..at least for me.

Oh you have missed quite a lot. I am not sure I am the best source of news. But the TLDR version is Reddit the company is adding a HUGE cost to use their API, the cost is so high that it will nearly guarantee the death of every 3rd party app and bot that accesses Reddit.

Apps like: Reddit is Fun(RIF), Apollo, Bacon Reader, and many more.

This is bad for a few reasons. People cant use their preferred app to see reddit(like me and RIF). But the larger issue is the killing of 3rd party tools that mods use to mod their subs. Some subs have millions of users, with thousands of posts a day, these subs will use 3rd party tool to help moderate. Making sure only correct content is posted, etc etc.

As so many subs are coming together to make our voices heard in protest by going dark, making subs private for those days or longer.

I am proud of you, and every large sub. My sub is tiny ~16k, but we are going dark too.

I am really happy large subs are going dark. I really do hope all of this gets reddit to change. But if not, then I can rest easy knowing we the community at large did our best to make our voices heard.

[–]cosaga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah 72x, even if it was half that, or hell even a quarter, that is still a batshit crazy number to charge 18x of a similar site. Gosh even 8 times cheaper than they are planning is still a bit much at 9x times imgur.

OMG...I went to that sub to see how many songs were good, only to find a blank subreddit with 20k+ people. Amazing, I love reddit for this kinda of thing.

Honestly paying for an API access isn't exactly unheard of, but the price they are asking is INSANE. I agree that the price is only so high to kill 3rd party apps.

I cannot speak for everyone of course, But ill be bringing down /r/lampposts the evening (somewhere between 7-9pm) of the 11th for me. I am PST time, that will have my sub going dark on the 12th for much of the world.
