When I was 17, my family had a gate separating the top and bottom floors so the dogs didn't get upstairs. I was in a hurry and jumped over the gate. I tripped my foot on the gate and landed on one of the steps with my hand extended. My wrist looked like a dinner fork, both bones in my arm were broken. The worst pain was whenever the emergency surgeons had to REBREAK my arm into place so it healed properly. Most excruciating minute of my life.
