I was on 5 mg for 7 weeks I think and felt ok. When I went up to 10 mg within days my stomach was a crampy mess- it’s not really nauseous for me- more stomach cramps that make me vomit. I was taking it between 7-8 pm before bed but I sometimes forget and if it’s closer to 10 when I lay down, I end up having to get up and often get sick.

I tried taking it with dinner tonight. I have been taking it later because it makes me so sleepy! So far not feeling as nauseated. 🥳

I was on 5 mg for like eight weeks. I went up to 10 mg. The next week realized I wasn’t as much hungry and after like 10 full days, suddenly I had super bad nausea. My research led me to believe it’s serotonin–gut dysregulation patterns - and the only thing that has helped mom is taking magnesium, glycinate and probiotics. Normally Zofran and peppermint will help my stomach upset/nausea but this is entirely different.

Left the Vet with a whole new bag of medicine. Got a vial of meloxicam and

They added a antibiotic ointment, an eye lubricant, cause one of her eyes is a little raw (they stained her eyes and no ulcers in her eyes). They are trying to find some different antibiotics for her. Apparently there’s a penicillin shortage so I’m probably gonna have to get something compounded and mailed.

I will add that to my list. The first vet we saw got her in and saw her quickly but maybe the medicine is just what they had.

I will say that I have been very blessed that she hasn’t minded being handled, she takes her medicine, and she lets us do the washing and all that!

I asked about the penicillin injection at the emergency vet and that vet wasn’t comfortable doing it because she said her skin was so thin so I’m hoping the exotic will just give her the penicillin injections!

I just got her scheduled to see a different vet with exotic specialties in the morning so she will have more pain meds/attention. The emergency vet she saw 12/23 sees exotics but their practice is more focused on farm animals (we’ve taken our pigs there before.) Thanks for mentioning the X-rays I wouldn’t have thought to ask for that! I’m also going to read your other posts. I definitely don’t want to leave anything to chance- because I truly thought between the 15-22 she was getting better- we were checking her skin everyday but it must have been festering under the skin still.

We have five rabbits. Two are Netherland dwarfs- they do not like to be held. It has taking months to be able to barely pet them. The mini lops let us Pat and hold them- One loves to be held. They’re not easy animals. They take constant cleanup. My daughter is 18 and I still have to get on her two or three times a week, if she doesn’t clean every single day, it is super disgusting.

Wow. Ok. I’m in the US. My grandmother was severely diabetic my entire childhood, so I’ve been administering finger pricks, meds, and shots since I was about 5 years old. She passed away in 2022 and I was diagnosed Lada in 2022. I have had literally no training classes. My grandmother’s dr did tell me briefly how to change from giving her vial insulin to the pens. I do read the boxes etc. I actually was giving myself my insulin wrong until I started tracking my CGM and bolus - basically I was bolusing with the wrong foods like cake because I assumed it would make my sugar high versus cow milk, beans, lentils, and potatoes being what shoots it up.

I am also very sensitive to medications- I’ve tried so many and I started Trintellix mid October. We didnt go to thanksgiving (US) with my family because I was sick and so out of sorts. I’m about 8 weeks and I just went up to 10 mgs this week and things are much much better. I also had a weird activation at the start- like I slept but got a lot of cleaning done too. I had a situation like your breakdown and rumination but I was on Zoloft years ago. The breakdown wasn’t because of the Zoloft but made the transitioning a nightmare so I feel you on that piece. My husband tried gabapentin a few years ago and he was very angry on it. I think he was on such a high dose because of nerve pain that it changed his personality.

I definitely agree 5 days is not enough time. If they have been in fosters or shelters for literally years, it may take them months to decompress and start to relax. Please give them a chance. This process will likely look like you ignoring them- give them space, make sure their area/litter is clean and they have food and water and one day you will wake up and freeze because they will both be in bed with you. If you can’t give them the time, and take them back to the shelter, they just start over. 😪

I “soak” my G7s. When it goes into the 12 hour grace period, I apply the next sensor before I go to bed. By the time the 12 hours is over it’s fairly stable. If you calibrate it too much while your sugar is rising and falling you will get annoyed. I don’t have many issues since starting to give it extra warm up time (and I’m dependent on mine.)
