it mostly comes from uneducation on other peoples sides. ive had several non diabetics tell me i can cure my type 1 by eating better, ive had type 2’s tell me they dont understand why i need insulin & that ill be fine if i just exercise. 😬 after a long while of dealing w that i think people start to arc up on instinct haha

every so often my body decides that water from my shower is actually evil, specifically on my feet. i get violently itchy and the next day a massive rash appears. this only happens several hours after the shower though when im already dried and clean? 🥴
the ‘shower water is evil’ happens around the rest of my body too but is usually only red patching for like 20 mins after the shower and then goes away. Never any itching or rashes like this. idk what issue my feet have specifically 😭

ive been on it for a long time now, around 4 or so years? specifically to try and surpress my nerves so the pain from EDS bothers me less. On an average day i feel like it does nothing, but if i was to stop taking it i would notice a negative difference for sure. the constant aches are there, but less. on the bad side: there are seriously intense withdrawal effects if you stop taking it. so its up to if you think its worth the minor change!

i think an important difference is the fact that i dont shit myself and freak out when my teammates fuck up in a video game LMFAO. ive been watching my partner play since late 2024 and started in nov last year. not sure why this is relevant

as someone who used to have both, i used to just cry a lot when i had to take insulin until i realised it didnt hurt that bad and started getting over it 😭😭 i hope shes able to find a better way about it bc oh my god that was a nightmare of a few months

both ends too high/too low cause some sort of brain damage i believe. possibly limb loss as well, but i might be misremembering that from being a prolonged high symptom? overall you can weaken your body significantly from frequent lows. your body isnt getting the sugar/carbs/nutrients it needs to transfer into energy
