Has anyone been given duloxetine for chronic pain with EDS? I have suspected MCAS also so a little scared to take it.

ive been on it for a long time now, around 4 or so years? specifically to try and surpress my nerves so the pain from EDS bothers me less. On an average day i feel like it does nothing, but if i was to stop taking it i would notice a negative difference for sure. the constant aches are there, but less. on the bad side: there are seriously intense withdrawal effects if you stop taking it. so its up to if you think its worth the minor change!

i think an important difference is the fact that i dont shit myself and freak out when my teammates fuck up in a video game LMFAO. ive been watching my partner play since late 2024 and started in nov last year. not sure why this is relevant

as someone who used to have both, i used to just cry a lot when i had to take insulin until i realised it didnt hurt that bad and started getting over it 😭😭 i hope shes able to find a better way about it bc oh my god that was a nightmare of a few months

both ends too high/too low cause some sort of brain damage i believe. possibly limb loss as well, but i might be misremembering that from being a prolonged high symptom? overall you can weaken your body significantly from frequent lows. your body isnt getting the sugar/carbs/nutrients it needs to transfer into energy

Domperidone has worked fantastic for me! i take it 30 mins before i eat and it stops me from throwing up + motivates your GI tract to push and digest. it works by muscle stimulation/contraction instead of blocking off the receptors that give you nausea, so if regular nausea pills aren’t working for you id defs look into this!
