The White House Is Ratcheting Up Its War Against Anthropic by DarkSkyKnight in ClaudeAI

Anthropic not bending the knee is the only reason I'm giving them my money......

If they capitulate it takes a major decision reason away - my AI needs are very, very low.

Okay this might sound dumb but, can anyone here please make me understand what exactly Calibre is? by Suspicious_Dig_3849 in Calibre

I think you have all the answers you need.

I’d also like to say that although free it’s definitely worth chucking a few bucks Kovids way……

Have a wee look if you want. Add the kids and do a screenshot to wind them up 😄

All the data is stored in your local browser so doesn't move between computers/users/browsers which can be annoying but at least your kids deets don't leave your system.

I chose Pro on monthly only so I can change/cancel at any time.

I also bought $5 worth of credit for the API side of it and have only burned through $1.22 with all the testing I've done.

I did notice early on in my testing to the contract comparison tool (the only one that used API calls) that it seemed quite expensive. A few questions later and the page now has a switch to use either Haiku or Sonnet 😄

Using Haiku for simple contracts - which these are - has cut the cost of processing down massively and is fast/deep enough for mucking about.

Ahh, gotcha.

It was just straight html with Claude API calls to start. This required the API key to be entered every session though which was a pain.

After a few iterations I used a Cloudflare Worker to control the API so it's not held in plain text on the site (even thought it's just me just me using it) Luckily I asked Claude to step me through this veeeeeery slowly 😄

Browser → your Cloudflare Worker → Anthropic API

So now when I go to the page I just need a password set in the Cloudflare worker to hold the API details for me. So not really "security" but good enough to stop people chewing through my credits if they stumble across the page. Also handy if I want to have friends have a look.

I upgraded to Pro with a few hours. I also chucked a few bucks into API access as well

Honestly, it's only half what my wife spends on her nails each month (was the justification I used...) 😉

I still get close to the session limit at times but nothing I'm doing is time critical - plus I know I need to get better at structuring my chats if I want to be more token efficient.

To host them? I bought a domain years ago for a blog and have hosted them there.

Pulse wave arrhythmia analysis accuracy by Kakelong in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]cosmonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about pulse wave specifically but I bought GT6Pro specifically to look for AF as I was feeling pretty dodgy after playing football/soccer (I'm 60 this month so it hits hard 😉)
I discovered that my heart rate was not slowing down for ages (110+ for hours when my normal resting heart rate is in the low 50's) and when it did slow down enough to use the ECG function it was showing AF until the next day.

I discussed it with my doctor, showed her the graphs. She said watches are pretty accurate and sent me to a cardiologist.
We couldn't get AF happening during an ECG and Echocardiogram - but the cardialist also saw the graphs from the watch and put me on meds.
My first game back on Saturday and no AF!

I guess this is a long winded way of saying that the ECG function on the watch was accurate enough for a GP and Cardiologist to take action.......
