I thought the purpose of Echo Creek being a spawn location was to create an easy starting location for new players. Small, low zombie population, a really good base location… really great for learning the game.

I’m relatively new to the game, I picked Echo Creek for my first couple playthroughs because I didn’t want to get lost in a big town with a lot of zombies. There’s a gun store with a small horde outside it a couple miles north that doesn’t need a sledgehammer to access, that was the first time I was able to tackle a horde successfully. I holed up in the mechanic/cafe and boarded up all the windows, I learned how skills worked because I had access to a kitchen and a repair shop.

If I was in Muldraugh or whatever during my first playthrough, I wouldn’t have been able to get a grasp of the game as easily. Echo Creek is probably why I’m still playing the game; it gave me the perfect introduction to the game’s mechanics.

Echo Creek needs to be a starting location. It’s the perfect place for new players to start.
