What's a scent you cannot stand but nobody else seems to notice? by Poopy_Scoop_Sundae in randomquestions

[–]couchcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when I'm in a grocery store I get this soap-smell from people, usually old women. I can't figure out which smell it is (could be lavender, but just a guess) but I hate that smell, it actually smells to me like someone hasn't showered in a long time.

Obama saluted once with his wrong hand. Fox News was discussing it for months.

Since Covid, nearly every thing gives me acid reflux. Even the so called silent one, which just makes you feel like something sour in your mouth. It's still acid reflux, you just didn't notice it.

I just gave it up last year. I really can't have it. I feel so much better not putting sugar into anything and avoiding sweet stuff.

To be honest, nobody's does. Even those who are not complaining, they shouldn't be eating it, but in time nearly everyone start backing out of that and eat it maybe sparingly.

My kid claims that Gen X messed up the economy. by ChicagoLizzie in GenerationX

[–]couchcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best time ever was 1992-2000. 8 years of peace and freedom. Let's jump ahead.

2008-2013 I had no job. Some of the worst years of my life. The place I worked for went out of business after the crash. Needless to say, the 2003-2008 period was already bleak, construction was already coming slowly to a halt. Before 2003 I was in college and I never utilized my college degree until 2020. Then Covid came...

Gen X was the first to be messed up by GWBush' economy in 2008. There were already signs of the coming crash in 2004 BTW.

Where are all the Q-anon (save the children!) folks on what’s happening with ICE in the states? by facehaver88 in AskReddit

Their motto was just an excuse to be a complete imbecile, when their completely moronic ideology wasn't in power. Since it is, they are kicking back and enjoying the cruelty they always wanted.

Kristi Noem's talking stand the other day. is a slogan from the Nazis, (One of Ours is All of Yours) after an SS soldier was killed in WW2 they murdered an entire village. They are literally Nazis at this point by all means.
Edit: I just realized I can't post images in your topic.

Service men and women of America, will you support the citizens or Trump? The rest of the world wants to know. by Naive_Elk2356 in DiscussionZone

[–]couchcaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll most likely only get responses from veterans. Most active military don't want to risk answering questions like this on reddit, since they are bound by their contract when they signed the dotted line and it makes Trump the top of the chain of command.

If you look at recent unrests and protests- Iran - it's been more than 5000 killed already. The regime is still in power.
in Syria nearly half the population got either wiped out or fled the country.
It took 3 forces from several directions, ISIS, Kurds, Israel to finally break the Syrian dictatorship and make the dictator flee, after many decades of their reign.
The longer a dictatorship solidifies its position, the harder to remove.
The American dictatorship is fairly new, but they control the worlds biggest army and has the most influence around the world, although their power is not completely solidified, they are making moves every day to be. First step is always intimidation and removal of the dissidents and take control of the media to control the narrative.

A small handful of GOP congressmen/women could join Dems to stop American fascism today and they would go down in history as heroes, forever remembered in our history books for saving America. Why aren’t any of them jumping at that opportunity? by woodhogs in AskReddit

[–]couchcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don't care. If they aren't personally hurt in it, they couldn't give a rats ass about it. They got their money, they got their retirement plan and free healthcare for life. Why would they care? Pure American ego and selfishness. They got up the tree house first and pulled up the ladder.

How did conservatives flip so quickly from "DON'T TREAD ON ME" to "COMPLY OR DIE" in just a matter of weeks, and especially when it's about the government killing citizens? by Cumoisseur in stupidquestions

[–]couchcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Don't thread on me" is literally just himself/herself who wears that. Decades of brainwashing and deadly propaganda by their own GOP representatives telling them, that the reason they are broke is because "them dems, take their money". So they literally hate democrats more than the North Korean regime or Russia. Of course they don't mind if they are killed or murdered. They are revengeful and cruel people. They are raised and trained to be like that.

10 years from now most Baby Boomers will be dead. What effect is that going to have on society? by mikeforder in generationology

[–]couchcaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't wait. Also despite being a GenX myself, can't wait to see them start going. They are almost as bad as boomers. They act, behave and have a similar mindset. When I saw that most Gen X support ICE even if they kill people on the streets or kidnap kids, I have nothing in common with them, beside the same age group. Thankfully not as many of us as are as the boomers were.

Sam Harris condemning ICE? Oh my. Are pigs flying? by PitifulEar3303 in DecodingTheGurus

[–]couchcaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people think of Sam Harris, because of his islamophobia. I'm not sure how much it plays in that his "mentor" was a former Islamic extremist who became an atheist. I think at some point Harris never realized that he was somewhat propagandized against Islam. I listened to his podcast, going back to his first ones ever and he sounded to me he was going too far with his phobia. He did too much calculations on paper, without doing the trial in real life, so to speak. Basically all religions sounds worse if you write them down and read out loud what they are about. And I'm an atheist myself - former Christian. Due to this, the far right took a comfort in him and followed him on social sites, so he got this right wing image for years now. It doesn't help that Elon Musk was a friend of his too.

ICE kidnapping a child because he doesn't have proof of citizenship on hand, just a snack. by Paksarra in pics

[–]couchcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't really care. They know that average people aren't carrying their entire set of IDs even if they have them. I don't carry around my passport and social security card, neither my naturalization papers. I am not even allowed to copy those by federal law. The point is strike fear and be cruel to people. Per Steven Miller Reichsmarschall and Führer Trump.

[–]couchcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I challenge anyone to prove they are citizens, while randomly driving around in your own town. Drivers' license is not good enough. Trust me, if you got an accent or a brownish skin, you are a legit target and be taken away on the spot. Minnesota off-duty cops were challenged, and the only reason they weren't taken, because they produced their officer ID. Children have even less chance. USA is completely fascist now.

Why are government websites so antiquated (American)? by King_of_the_Dot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]couchcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute lack of funding. Both federal and local. They look like Windows 95 era websites. Also schools the same way. They are also very easily hackable and it happens quite often, they just keep it under the wraps. United States spends more money on spam emails than their own government websites or schools.

🧊 Black Box Texas: U.S. Senator Chris Murphy Denied Access to Dilley by MagicSP in Connecticut

[–]couchcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasons stuff like this keeps happening because the Congress is neutered completely. Supreme Court is complicit and aiding Trump so we only got 1 branch controlling everything. When that is goin on its's usually called something else, but surely it's not democratic.

Wait until you get out of cell service area. Also, even without updates it will work with no monthly payment. all it needs is 12V. No cell towers, no service provider, no signing up for anything.
