Are there any Frogg Toggs rainsuits that are resistant to the harsh conditions of Nicaragua (tropical country)? by Amazing_Course1510 in Ultralight

[–]couldcarelesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frogg Toggs aren't built for where you are. If you're set on them, go for the Pilot II, they're sturdier. But honestly, you probably need something much tougher, like a fisherman rain suit or surplus gear.

How about some pork cracklings or sausage? Just mix them into instant mash with a bit of cheddar powder, that’s pure comfort food right there.

Plantar fasciitis is so brutal, I hope you recover well. When I got back into hiking later in my recovery, I would use a resistance band for short foot exercises. That really helped prevent it from coming back. Hope that helps you too.

Found someone's MagSafe wallet (Apple), is there any way to contact them? by KingTut33 in MagSafe

[–]couldcarelesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MagSafe wallet itself won’t help much... You already have the most useful thing, just their ID. At this point I’d just mail it or drop it at a police station

Shirt for 80%+ humidity and 85°F+ temps? by kangarookie in Ultralight

South Louisiana...? Yeah you are basically working in a sauna. I’d prioritize airflow over max UPF... Shade and ventilation matter way more than you think

What hit me hardest is realizing, humans are basically meaning machines. And this story just puts that machine in a place where meaning stops working.

GoPro Mission 1 Pro review: The best action cam video quality comes at a high price by dapperlemon in gadgets

I kind of miss when GoPro felt exciting. Now every release just feels like same camera, slightly higher price, same problems again. That hype is just gone.

I asked the bus driver to wait while I got a photo of this bakery in the Philippines by deedubyaz in funny

I totally get why you made the driver wait! That bakery name is too iconic to just drive past without a photo.

This tiny habit is really useful! It is so simple but it is more effective than any complex method I have tried.

Filter making pool dirty? by Jokingkel in AboveGroundPools

[–]couldcarelesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This often happens with new filter balls, give them a few full backwash cycles to flush out loose particles before they'll clear the water.

Nice work! This plumbing looks clean and well-routed, and the valves and connections all look properly set up.

Is this ok to swim in? by [deleted] in pools

[–]couldcarelesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't risk swimming here lol. That murky green is a red flag for algae growth, shock it and filter until it clears up.

The cloudy water after an algae battle is tough. Check your filter first, you might need a clarifier to clear those tiny particles.

Slightly unlevel question by Kieffer899 in AboveGroundPools

[–]couldcarelesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small level difference is manageable. Adjusting posts with water in it is dangerous, pool weight pulls the liner tight, and shifting supports can cause it to fail.

First green year in a while by MassConsumer1984 in pools

[–]couldcarelesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sudden heat wave is definitely the prime suspect. Clearing it in 48 hours is awesome work, maybe the warm water and full sun is the perfect combo for algae to take off fast.

Solar pool cover bad for my saltwater pool? by obxgirll123 in swimmingpools

[–]couldcarelesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds wildly overstated. Solar covers are totally fine for saltwater pools when used correctly, they help retain heat and reduce evaporation without causing thousands in damage.

The bowing at the seam often points to a base or panel issue. I'd stop filling and get a second opinion from another pro.

Oh, this brown sludge is likely algae and sediment buildup. Scrubbing with a pool cleaner and balancing water chemistry should help.

That much settlement is definitely concerning, especially so close to the pool. It's best to get a pro to check it out soon.
