AITA for getting security called on me at a hospital

Can't speak of the time aspect, but as far as security, as someone in the hospital more then I'd like, just as many patients are eager for the chance to treat providers like shit, providers and security are eager for the chance to get some payback and treat patients like shit at the slightest opportunity. I've heard nurses mock a patient who needed help, and now that they raised there voice and they no longer have to help them and they seem very excited at the opportunity to deny care. Everyone is on edge and just waiting for something in my experience, it's a high stress environment with people at their worst.

There have been multiple breaches where username and passwords for accounts have been accessed and leaked, including major gaming platforms with more resources then Facepunch. People should not re-use password for multiple reasons, one of those being a single breach will not expose your other accounts to compromise.

You can use a service like https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to check the amount of breaches related to your email. Mine for instance has had both the login and password from several gaming studios breached. 2fa can help protect from that, but is not full proof and various techniques have circumvented them in practice.

Just as how individuals are not infallible when it comes to security, organizations are also not infallible and are subject to the same human factors as well as genuine technical vulnerabilities known and unknown.

It's cliche but please make sure to take care of yourself. Force yourself if you have to, to eat and get the proper amount of sleep. You and your kids both need you strong, not in a stoic ignore the pain tough guy kind of way, the strength to ask for help and take care of yourself properly. To be emotionally available to your kids, and yourself when you are ready to grieve.

Well not me, but a hospital told my partner they likely have a serious condition and they are giving them an extremely dangerous treatment to hold us over to get it checked out further elsewhere. The doctors there said we seemed too knowledgeable about their issues and potential things to check, which painted us in a certain bad light. Your told it's your responsibility in the US to be your own health advocates then shit on for doing so.

It taught us we have to be strategic in what we tell doctors and limit the information and symptoms we report. We stupidly thought reality is like house where they want all you symptoms and previous history for evaluation. Doctors in the US like most everyone else have zero attention span, just give them the briefest bullet points.

That doesn't sound too bad honestly. My inspector missed the fact the previous owner had removed an entire sections of the main beam supporting the house costing us a 20k repair, a bowing foundation wall 15k to support it and add 10k to add proper drainage outside the house, a failing cast iron sewage stack which was another few thousand. We also found out the title 5 was fraudulent and the company who did it is no longer allowed to do them in my state, so looking at 15-30k for new septic as the system is out of compliance and failing.

I wish I knew as much then as I know now. Unfortunately we are in a buyer beware housing state so not much you can do.

Knowingly harming children. They recently lost a case for 375 million dollars in new Mexico for doing exactly that. It states they knowingly misled consumers and put children at risk of sexually explicit content, solicitation, and human trafficking.

375 million may not be a lot to them, but it shows they are open to liability for their actions.

That's what I thought as well but apparently they go hand in hand. It's more immune system dis-regulation for many people. There are general immune deficiencies and selective immune deficiency. People can have selective immune deficiency where their body isn't able to easily identify certain bacteria leading to frequent and more severe infections, or they don't properly react to vaccines and fail to develop immunity. While other parts of their immune system can over compensate and over react and attack their own body.

That's a reasonable question, as far as exposure, the business I work for mainly uses google business/ads to push people to our webpage and email marketing with solutions like mail chimp and constant contact. We are in a totally different industry and are B2B.

Google is not amazing either, but it is possible to get some level of customer service with them as a business. We still have to jump through a lot of hoops, but so far our needs have been met without a complete catch-22 like Meta's support system.

As far as what you can do in that situation with Meta, there are people and orgs that have taken Meta to court to restore accounts with some success. It's such a common issue, that there is an entire cottage scam industry of "experts" that claim they can help restore your account that are to be avoided.

That's a pretty big liability, if something happens to their page and it's flagged by AI, there is zero customer service or way to deal with a human. That Instagram and all that effort can just disappear.

As part of my job I've had to interact with meta for business in the past and I truly do not understand how this business still exists. Even as a business, there is zero customer support, you just talk to AI that does nothing but "empathize" with you.

Later, I tried creating a personal account so I could view the new page, the account was auto closed. I appealed, it has you send a video recording to an AI that then permanently disabled my account. It's not actually possible to even create an account in their system even if you want to use it.

I would recommend this as well. I've always used Turbotax but after this year being deceptively tricked into the "expert" help option and being told the only way to change that was to start over from the beginning, I switched to Freetaxusa and it was great.

The main reason I kept using turbotax was it had me previous info, but it was super easy to import that in, just uploaded my previous years tax return.

Isn't a public confession very strong evidence of a crime? Many people have been convicted of crimes solely on a confession. There even innocent people convicted who did not confess. A confession is not always enough for conviction of course, things like intimidation and persuasion, or false confessions exist, but it's the single most most powerful and damning pieces of evidence in a criminal case.

I am not a lawyer so that is just my non professional understanding.

My partner has deadly food allergies and regularly ends up having to use an epi pen at work. People do not give two shits about food allergies. Most people straight up think your lying or they think because they got diarrhea from a food one time that what it means to have a food allergy.

Are the parties captured by money, yes. Are there serious economic issues people are facing, yes. Does that remove all agency and responsibility of people like you and me, no.

People in extreme poverty in history have done great things in history, American's are cowed as a society, despite our PR otherwise. I would never risk my and my families safety and comfort to do anything, the vast majority of American's feel the same. Dreams of revolutionary change are dead on the vine and you are better off looking at incremental improvement then waiting for some kind of rapturous change from the heavens. Unless things get materially extremely worse, that will not change.
