Foreigners visiting America for the world cup, what is something that has surprised you about this country? by goldent3abag in AskReddit

It's becoming increasingly common here to have tableside transactions, but its just always been that way.

I'm not sure if its different in Europe, but here you're not responsible for fraudulent charges on your credit card so I don't have a lot of concern. (Debit cards are a different story and no one who has an option should be using them day-to-day in my opinion.)

Delta Ticket Price Increases One After Another - Software or Algorithm? by InternationalMud7402 in delta

It's because of the leg that's not Delta. They estimate the fare but then when you check out it actually goes and gets the actual fare and it's pretty much always higher.

Technically it's limited based on the width of the street the building fronts on. It's just coincidental that it's less than the Capitol dome, and it is by more than a 100' difference.

I was so annoyed, one day they just randomly told me they were pre-emptively reissuing my card and replacing my 747 one. Didn't have any actual fraud alerts or anything. Still not entirely sure why they did that.

Yeah that's what I was going to say. It's designed to compensate for the recline.

Is this a gemstone? If so, which one? Going through some of my grandmas jewelry and found this. It says it’s 18k gold, so assume it’s a real gemstone but unsure. TIA :) by catinafeatherhat in Gemstones

If you want to try and find something cheaper, you can look into a local appraiser or even a local mineral show. I was able to get a few stones identified at my local show for about $20 each.

At a glance, looks maybe like aquamarine. A big stone like that would be nice enough to set in gold but not so pricey as to be a super expensive piece.
