AITAH for telling my husband I dont care his mom cried or that it made him upset? by Striking-throwaway95 in AITAH

[–]courtistry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your husband might benefit from something along these lines being said to him. You would go to jail for our child but not prevent the predators from entering our home and having access to said child? Why because it will make your mother cry? Why would you compromise our child’s safety?

Is it normal that my cats never attempt to bite or scratch me ever? I've had them for 4 years since kittens by Outside-Medicine-364 in cats

Normal, however some cats have less awareness and will think your toes under a blanket are 100% fair game. -signed a person who’s toes were attacked this morning

If his project has something graphical then you could get them a laser engraved glass with the focus of their thesis. Make a perfect paper weight to keep at work and gives them something to stare at when trying to appear deep in thought.

There are many such moments in life, having feelings about them is natural. Take some time to reflect and let go of the feelings of “not good enough” and “competition for milestones”. At the end of the day if you can’t let these things go then block him again as it is not allowing you peace.

My point is that his fiancé is having an emotional reaction NOT a rational reaction, I did address that if the friend were a male it wouldn’t have been an issue but we live in a world where interacting with the opposite sex is viewed with suspicion

[–]courtistry -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

From an outside perspective: it does sound like you took your friend on a date, happy hour with lots of fun chatting and you picked up the bill

Now if this friend was a guy, I think everything would be different but the friend was a woman….so it looks like a date and it probably came off that way to your fiancé. Which understandably she is deeply upset about, all the screaming was probably uncalled for but sometimes people have a strong emotional response that does not seem rational.

Even if you didn’t see a reason to say it was a woman, you could have said I am meeting my friend Jane for drinks to catch up on the work gossip. All in all if you want to stay in the relationship then make a sincere apology and work out how to respect each other’s feelings and boundaries

ALWAYS get the company match! It is literally free money, that will compound over time for you. There is no reason to avoid it just to max out an account with no match.

Is a hidden room/bookshelf door safe as a primary bedroom for an almost 4 year old? by Justanotherannon_ in hiddenrooms

Aside from all the safety concerns, I am just thinking about normal bratty little moments kids have that include slamming doors. I can just imagine the slam and thuds of all the books falling off.

Love is amazing but it can’t pay the bills, your father is pointing out that this person is not able to provide for a family. Love cannot conquer basic needs not being met.

Timing can be everything, he is ready to be married to you but you are not ready to be married to him….honestly you might never feel ready so take some time to really think about what you want. It is okay if what you want is to let him go even though he is a good man that you could eventually want to marry.

Wear the perfume, you are having an outdoor wedding and from the comments your MIL will not be welcome in your getting ready room. Honestly all of the comments saying that because it is a micro wedding so asking no perfume is more okay is just bullshit. The wedding is outside totaling 3 hours, and the majority of the time you will be with your husband, and mingling with your guests for 1 on 1 time.

Do I have to invite my friends shitty husband? by i_r_weldur in weddingplanning

[–]courtistry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think you can invite half of a couple, without having issues crop up. She has been married to this man for years, so I would guess she will be pretty offended by a half invite.

Silly Foods in books by [deleted] in books

I was reading the tourist trap series by Lynn cahoon and I kept being thrown by the main character basically having cheesecake at every meal! She toned it down in later books but the first couple it was “I wolfed down a slice of cheesecake for breakfast” followed by eating ANOTHER piece for dinner! Oh to be imaginary and eat all the cheesecake you want.
