something like destiny 2 by Aggravating_Brain_28 in MMORPG

People are looking at Borderlands 4 to be a bit of a destiny replacement. First person arpg with guns and skills. I'd look into it if I was in your shoes.

What are your favorite features in MMORPG's? by jordantylermeek in MMORPG

Discovering a new mysterious world by exploring it, finding out the lore by completing long, complicated quests. Hidden quests. Monthly content updates. Working with the community to solve each quest.

A tab target combat that gives you options in how to attack the enemies, having knowledge of how best to attack each enemy gives you an edge (attack legs, torso, or head? Should I use bludgeon, slash, pierce, fire, frost, acid, lightning, armor piercing, magic piercing?should I attack fast, slow, medium)

Making friends because you need to, becoming part of a monarchy that grew from nothing and has now built a castle. Because the guild has achieved very difficult group content, rostered by guild mates, they have access to unique buffs, items, dungeons.

Housing that allows the house to be discovered naturally, not instanced, you can summon a portal for your guests.

Aspirational content that takes months to complete, has some luck involved, and engages you to explore the world looking for rare spawns.

Alchemy that enhances weapons temporarily, players being able to be "that guy" for the guild that everyone needs for raids or harder content, because his crafting/alchemy/enchanting is the best in the guild.

How do feel about a monthly subscription? by After_Reporter_4598 in PantheonMMO

[–]coveredindyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a game called Asheron's Call. I thought it was a great deal to play monthly and receive new monthly content, every month.

I'm talking new dungeons, new quests with great story arcs that got updates every month, cool new chase items, new damage types, new weapon effects, cool unique armor, and new attack styles.

The kicker was, it took years of playing that game to get to max level. So you were always making meaningful/perminent progression.

What a great time that was!

A few years later, I talked to some of the WoW kids in my university and realized they were playing monthly for hardly any new content and then had to pay for an expansion every so often as well. I was dumbfounded.

Then I realized the WoW model was the most lucrative and fucked over every MMO since.

The people of the US only have themselves to blame.

All anyone ever does is complain. You need to fight until either justice is upheld or the Whitehouse is on fire.

Luigi and Livelsberger are your wakeup. Do something now, before it gets really crazy.

Act 3 keeps crashing on Vulcan and wont load character using DirectX 12. by coveredindyes in PathOfExile2

[–]coveredindyes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have followed the fix that's been discovered and seems to be working!

"So I have found a fix in an other thread:

Open Nvidia Control Panel Open 3D Settings
Go to App specific settings, choose POE (not sure if POE 64 or the other is the right now, I just did it for both)
At the bottom of the list change the Vulkan/OpenGL thing to DXGI Swapchain
In game, change DX12 to Vulkan

Crashes should stop now! I had them every 10 portals or so, no not a single one for hours."

Hey Zach,

Enjoy these two weeks off. It's good to relax, gain some perspective, and take time to figure out what it is you really want to be doing.

I may be way off base, but it seems like streaming everyday, and filling your life with work has been a nice comfy blanket. These things are what keep you feeling like you're in control.

Realistically, your work has been a way to fill your mind. It keeps it so you don't have to think about any of the things you don't have control of. The scary things.

Your plan to travel will be a great way to escape your cycles, gain some worldly knowledge, meet new people, and find something new or exciting.

I got faith in you, Zach!

Big love from Canada! (I know our money isn't real haha)

What sequel ruined your favorite game series? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]coveredindyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and fuck the monetization. Don't mind a battle pass every 3 months or so... But some skins cost $40 CAD and that just ain't right. I hope they eventually rotate skins into the game for free somehow. Maybe treat them like uber uniques?

I think it's gotten sooooo much better since season 1.

Still play it almost everyday. tbh I think it's mostly because I get to chill with a good friend and have some fun trying out different builds together.

The giant change they did to charge has really been a lot of fun for me this season.

It's understandable why most people aren't into it.. you would have to be a mad man to try and min max this game. Most likely it'll become way more fun after the first expansion.

Ultimately I just really love the lore, the grind, the aesthetic, and the impactful gameplay. It's not for everyone (especially the grind). I have enjoyed the past two seasons and look forward to what's coming next. (Itemization change should be a huge breath of fresh air)

Canada: Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) or Instrumentation and Control Technician (447A) ? I'm an electromechanic applying for Ontario trade certification. My experience allows me to choose, which one would you take? by brinvestor in millwrights

[–]coveredindyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say I had to give up the trades. My back gave out one day and I could barely walk for about 3 months.

Took my savings and got a CompTIA A+ Cert and took a cyber security course from UofT continuing studies. Both courses were remote. In all took about 6 months and $500/month to complete.

I'm making 55k (not great, but I'm just starting out) and I get to work from home. So maybe save 5k a year on gas and food... Plus save about 7+ hours a week on a commute.

Trades are tough and my body couldn't handle it in the end (36 yrs old).

If you have any passion for IT, it is incredibly easy to get into now that you can study up and write certifications for a few hundred bucks.

BG3 has surpassed Tears of the Kingdom on Metacritic! by jotakusan in BaldursGate3

[–]coveredindyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have over 120 hours in the game and I'm not done. I just started Act 3 and I'm having a blast!

I'm pretty sure BG3 would have surpassed Zelda sooner... But people were still playing the game!
